Clarke and Bellamy had this unsurfaced relationship, they both knew they cared for one another but yet they were never a couple. They couldn't lose each other, they are each others anchors. And what happens if you lose an anchor?? You float away...Clarke understood this.Clarke
" They should be back by now!" Clarke announces agressively as they were fiddling in a room filled with Ravens gadgets; she'd been getting frustrated every time Clarke mentioned them
" Clarke, this has happened before and every time you exaggerate because Bellamy isn't back yet." Raven states for the billionth time.
" It's not just Bellamy." Clarke argues quietly
" Whatever you say." Raven replies simply and Clarke returns with a death glare in her direction.
" They're late Raven-" Clarke tells her, after a moment, refusing to be wrong
" They were due back this morning Clarke, chill." Ravens outburst is loud and harsh- so much so that she slams the radio she'd been working on all day on the table, making the antenna snap off," Shit." She whispers to herself
" I swear to god-" Clarke's angered voice is overshadowed by the rustling of her door being opened forcefully; both girls turn their heads immediately, happy that whoever has burst in will be releasing some tension
" am I interrupting?" Monte asks, walking into the room
" No!" Raven says too enthusiastically
" It's just you." Clarke says harshly
" Nice to see you too Clarke." Monte says dryly
......
Within another 3 days, Clarke became a stranger to sleep and food. The only thing that had entered her system was the food Raven had been shoving down her throat but Clarke had brushed her away by using the excuse of work in medical. Another 5 days passed and Clarke's stomach had stopped working; she became overwhelmed at how long they had been gone. She tried to not help it, but her mind would create these scenarios where everyone came back but Bellamy, saying he died saving someone else like he would.
10days.
10 whole, miserable days had passed but people were acting like normal, as if they were never here; Clarke supposed it was because the council were acting normal, Clarke knew that wasn't the case. Definitely not for Octavia. Clarke began doing things all wrong to the point where she was stitching someone's leg without cleaning it; Abby sent her to her tent, beginning to notice a change in her behavior.
It ended at two weeks, when Clarke was sitting in her tent forcing herself to drink some water when she heard the gate doors opening. Quickly, she rushed outside and her heart raced more than ever. It thumped in her ears and clouded her judgement but she ran towards everyone making their way back home. People were shouting as they returned, reuniting with loved ones but Clarke stopped half way to them and noticed something was immediately wrong. A young guard, 16 or 17 was sprinting as fast as he could towards her and when he stopped he looked apologetic.
" WE NEED HELP!" He screamed to the top of his lungs, he sprinted until he was in front of Clarke with a look of horror and tiredness on his face. She had met him half way, telling him to calm down as he attempted to explain why had happened, and why it had taken them so long. Eventually, he seemed to calm but just as he was bout to explain Clarke saw that behind his shoulder, a group of people walking through the gates- but they were carrying something. Someone. But, to her dismay it was more than one: three to be exact. Three people on stretchers and Abby was already over there telling people where to put the wounded. As Clarke ran over she saw Miller, with cuts and bruises on his face.
