Chapter 11

RILEY'S POV

As soon as I stormed into my house I felt instantly guilty and I was about to head back out and say sorry to Reece when I heard a sob and then my mums comforting arms came around me and I heard her crying in my ears and I felt even more guilty so I whispered to her telling her I was fine and that I was back and safe, I pull away and look for my brother just to see him in deep conversation with Reece, huh, didn't even notice him come in - Yes, you did, I heard my wolf whisper. I look at Reece and feel the guilt come up in a tidal wave so I make my decision... "Reece?" I say softly, he looks over in suprise but doesn't say anything, just raises his eyebrow, so I continue "can I talk to you in private?" I ask in the same soft voice, he nods and follows me out the room.

REECE'S POV

To say I was surprised that Riley wanted to talk to me alone would be an understatement. As I follow her to her bedroom I think over what I had said to Jason and then his idea;

*FLASHBACK*

As I walked inside the house following Riley, Jason suddenly grabbed my arm and pulled me aside, then he whisper shouted: "Tell me everything!" and I told him, I told him about being the Alpha and about Riley being my Mate - at which point Jason clenched his fists - but I ignored that and carried on about how she doesn't want to be my Mate and then I told him about our moment outside the cafe but suprisingly he just nodded. Then he looked over to where his mum and Riley were situated and then turned back to me and said "I have a plan..." he started, and this got me interested "make her jealous." And little did I know that those three words could change not only my life but that of Riley, Jason, their mum, and Riley's friends...

*END FLASHBACK*

I looked at Riley as we sat on her bed and waited for her to start talking. After what seemed an hour she talked, "Reece, I'm sorry about the way I acted" She said strongly but with a hidden sadness and that sadness made me want to stop my plan but I didn't, I just shrugged and looked away. I heard her swallow before speaking again "I just- when my dad died I saw how much it affected my mum and I vowed to myself that I wouldn't get a Mate because I don't want to lose the one thing special to me...I couldn't take it!" Riley said shakily her voice breaking at the end, but for a reason I didn't understand my wolf got very angry at her words and I shot up into standing position and glared at her, "I don't give a shit about your reasons!" I spat out, I saw a look of complete hurt on her face and then saw the tears in her eyes flow over so I turned and walked out before my wolf tried to comfort her...
