I let out a sigh as I leaned on the headboard of my bed. My fever had disappeared finally, but I was still receiving the effects of the nausea and headaches, as well as weakness. Mr. Hanekoma hadn't come back with an answer to the sigil on my back and I tried not to dwell too much on it. I knew I wouldn't get any answers anyway and it gave me a headache just thinking about it. Joshua hadn't come back since the other day when I asked about the sigil. He wouldn't tell me what he knew about (not that I expected an answer from him) but just brushed it off and said he had to take care of something since a Game was starting. He had to look over the Game to judge the players, to see who was 'worthy' enough to gain a second chance at life. Neku, surprisingly, agreed to be Conductor for this Game, despite the fact that it would mean being a Reaper for over a week, since that was what was originally decided. Joshua must've told him something or promised

My wing was almost fully healed from letting it sit, and from my excelled healing power, which I thankfully hadn't lost yet. Though that power would surely disappear with whatever else I had lost. I reached over and picked up a book from the nightstand with shaky hands as I brought it over to me with a grunting noise. Mr. Hanekoma had brought in my favorite book while I was sleeping at some point and left it on the table so I wouldn't be completely bored out of my mind. Just as I turned the page to the beginning, my phone buzzed and I picked it off of the nightstand to look at it. It was a text from Shiki, asking if I was alright from our last meeting together. I waited a minute before responding with a yes.

Almost instantly, she responded with a text, asking to come and hang out with her and her friends. I took one glance at my wings and thought about my 'sickness' and told her I couldn't come. When I was about to put my phone away, it buzzed again but this time, it was Solaris, asking about the event coming up. I responded with the same answer I gave Shiki and the corners of my lips tugged downwards, seeing how I wasn't able to go. Even if no Composers went, it was still a fun event to be at with the colorful balloons, and the positive energy and imagination from everyone who was able to go. I had gone to it last year with Solaris and had a blast. Then again, I doubted Joshua wanted to keep me out of his sight for too long anyways. Telling Mr. Hanekoma to keep an eye on me while he dealt with the Game. Although, when he left before, the day he was taking care of me, I had a strange feeling that he wasn't being all too truthful with his answer to me. It's highly possibly that Mr. Hanekoma knows what's going on, but I was usually left in the dark on these kinds of things.

This was the part where I enjoyed being an Onlooker, because I had access to all of this information and anything else I needed. Although, I didn't particularly enjoy just spying into other people's business like that while observing.

I set the book down and swung my legs over the side of my bed. I stood up and nearly fell over from my legs which were like jelly. I leaned against a nearby wall as I stumbled onto it and made my way over to the dresser as I pulled out some comfy clothes which took some effort. After I got the new clothes, I made my way over to my bathroom as I set my clothes on the counter and leaned down towards the bathtub faucet as I turned it on, letting the water warm up as slow as it did. After closing the door (making sure to lock it), I took some scissors and cut the bandages off, watching as they floated to the ground in waves. I looked at the wing that was still healing in the mirror. It wasn't as mangled as before, but feathers were missing in various patches across it On the featherless parts of the wing were some scars that would most likely not fade away.

I slowly peeled away the clothes that were stuck to my skin as my shirt even tore a little as I took it off. It was a low cut in the back, which meant that I didn't have to worry about changing my frequency, again, to accommodate with my large pearly white wings which would get in the way. After taking off the old clothes I had been wearing for a few days. I turned off the faucet and stepped into the water as I sat down in it, welcoming its warmth from the coldness of my room.
