"Nerves are good, they keep you alive." - Idina Menzel
-----------------------------------------------------------------
The rain continues to pour onto the house feeling the silence with noise. It's 3am in the morning and I've been curled up on my bed since I ran home. My parents tried to come soothe me and asked me what was wrong, but they soon gave up. My mom put my pills on my nightstand. She thinks I need to start taking them again, saying that the move is putting unnecessary stress on me.
But she knows full well it's not the move. It's the inability to change the past.
I go into my closet and pull out a Westview basketball sweatshirt. It's Leo's, I always wear it on night's like this. I slip the sweatshirt over my head and lay back down in bed. I close my eyes and let the sweatshirt work it's magic to let me drift back to sleep.
------------
I manage to wake up at 7am after getting a few hours of sleep, surprisingly not needing my phone to wake me up.
Wait.
Where's my phone? I get up and throw all my covers off my bed seeing if it got caught up with the sheets. Not there. I run to my desk to see if it's over there. I lift open my laptop to ping it on Find My iPhone when I see the screensaver of Megan, Leo and I. Then I suddenly realized that Landon took it from me yesterday before I ran off.
Well, shit. Now I'm going to have to face him today. I was definitely planning on avoiding him. I let out a groan and throw a random notebook across the room.
At least I have a password on my phone I tell myself. I go to pick up the notebook and my monologue fall out of it.
Double shit.
Auditions are today.
What am I going to do?
I don't handle stress well at all so tears just started flowing out, but I just try to get ready and presentable for today.
-------------
I hop out of my car an hour later downing my green tea to help soothe my nerves. It's a little chilly today with an overcast. It'll probably rain again today. I wasn't in the right mindset to audition, but I'm going to try my damnest to do my best. Theatre has been my happy place and my escape when I needed one. I couldn't risk it.
I started walking towards the school when I heard someone screaming after me,
"ROSALIE GREENE! ROSE, GET OVER HERE!"
I turn to my left to see Gabby running towards me. I could feel my horrified expression on my face, I've only known this girl two days and she looks like she's ready to murder me. What did I do?
She stands in front of me looking annoyed.
"Okay, so please tell me why you didn't answer any of my texts or calls last night? I needed your help! But then you wait to text me at 3am asking what I'm wearing? If you don't find any of the guys attractive, I get it now, but you know I have a boyfrie-."
I slap my hand over her mouth to keep her from continuing as shock fills my body, "What the hell are you talking about, Gabby?"
She opens her messages and shows me the message I apparently sent her.
I stared at her screen for a long time until the corner of my eye catches some movement. Next thing I know Landon's arm is around my shoulders and looks down on me.
