Nick's pov.
I looked down, feeling the blood evacuate my body. It dripped down to the sink, then overflowed to the floor. I don't even remember getting here, or making the cuts in the first place. I looked in to the mirror; my skin pale and lifeless. I backed up and my body was nothing but skin and bones. What did I do to myself? The bathroom is poorly lit with a white light.
The blood began to get darker until it became black. This ... This isn't right. I felt someone tap on my shoulder. I turned around, expecting see my parents, ready to take me to a hospital. But no... Recognizing who it was, I wrapped my arms around her and began to weep.
"I miss you..." I cried
"I miss you too, Nick," she replied, "You've changed a lot."
"How so?" I smiled. She released from the hug.
"Well, for one you're like 4 inches taller," she laughed, "I had forgotten how short you were."
"Yeah, but you're like 5 feet tall so," I teased.
"Well you can't really grow when you're dead," she said. That hit me like truck. She's dead...
"Yeah... That's right..."
"You still eating lettuce sticks?" she laughed.
"No, no more lettuce sticks," I replied, remembering the joke.
"How's you're singing?"
"Shitty as always."
She hit my arm, playfully. "It's not shitty."
"I don't know. You were always deaf so, I can't really trust your opinion," I joked. She laughed with me. I missed the sound of her laugh.
She started coughing like if she was chocking on something. It began to worry me.
"You okay?" I asked. Blood came up with the cough. It dripped down from her lower lip, onto her chin, then hands. "What's going on?!"
She coughed up more blood, her skin getting more pale than it already was. "I'm fine," she answered. She stepped towards the toilet, throwing up nothing but dark red. I stood paralyzed in fear.
I broke from the terror to stand by her. I rubbed her back. "Is... Is this how ...you died?"
"No..."
"I wish I could be with you.."
"No, Nick. Don't you ever dare do what I did!" She demanded.
"How about I don't take pills, but instead I drown myself," I asked in a slight joking manner.
"No! I mean don't kill yourself." She turned to me, toppling over me. I held her in my arms. She moved away a little. Her lips turned to white, her eyes begging to close. I started crying again.
"Don't leave me again..."
"I'm sorry, Nicholas.." she whispered, as her body became limp.
"NO! COURTNEY, NOT AGAIN!" I yelled. "Please! I LOVE YOU!" She couldn't hear me anymore. She was lifelessly leaning against me. I broke down to the floor. My arms began bleeding black blood again. . It gushed faster and faster out of me. "Please, come back.. I can't do this without you!"
Everything faded away as fast as lightning. I looked around, scared out of my mind.
"Nick, Calm down it's me!" Johnny said. "It looked like you were having a nightmare, so I woke you up."
I stayed silent.
I started to remember..
"They had no grapes in the line so I had to get... Lettuce sticks?" I said, as I sat down at our lunch table.
