For now, I just will prevent fights between them. Later,I'll have to talk to them, but now isn't the right time.

"Melissa, thank you. You know, you don't realize it...but though you don't get the best grades, you're really smart.

This really cleared my mind up. Thank you."

"You're one of my best friends, I'll do anything for you. Anyways, how are you coping with... all this?

First you find out your parents aren't really your parents, then that you're a mermaid and a princess, then your real dad's assistant kinda guy shows up and falls in love with you, and then you and your boyfriend find out he's a merman too. You're so strong. Most people would've collapsed because of this? How do you keep your shit together so well?"

"Really? I don't. Those people need me to save them- to stop my uncle. After being gone for so long I at least owe them that. What happens after? I don't know but I'll figure it out."

Melissa and I talk for another hour, whilst Michael practices, Tanya talks to my mum, and Kaerio prepares for the 'power-reading' with my father.

I walk over to Michael, hugging him from behind. "You okay there? You've been training for a long while now."

He turns around and pulls me into a tight embrace. "I just don't feel like I'm doing as well as you and... him"

"What? You're doing just as well as me and Kaerio. C'mon, take a break." I grab his hand and get him to sit with me to watch the ocean together. We rest our heads on each other, and staying that position for a while whilst waiting for Kaerio to 'read' our powers.

After about an hour, we hear my dad shout "Neria, Michael! Everything's ready."

We get up, and walk over to them holding hands. From the looks of it they haven't prepared any objects for Kaerio to use or anything, so I guess he just needed to prepare his mind and body? I wonder what the process looks like.

"Hold my hand." Kaerio says, and then realised what it just sounded like.

"So that I can read your powers." he adds quickly.

I grab hold of his hand, and as I do that, he closes hiseyes and breathes deeply in and out. Suddenly, his eyes open, but they're cloudy, and his head tilts backwards. "Dad! What's happening to him?!"

"Shhhh. He's seeing a vision, I don't know why though."

I keep hushed, when he moves his head back to its normal position, and his eyes get back to normal. He starts breathing desperately for air.

"Y-you, Neria," He babbles.

"Kaerio, look at me" I command, and he does so instantly. "Take it slow. Breathe in- and out- and in..."

When he finally gets his breath back he says "Neria,you... You are Rava's descandant. You are her embodiment. You have her power of lightning, though you have the power to talk to animals and sea creatures too. You seem to have Rava's power, as her embodiment, and your own power too. You have the blood of the first mermaid in history flowing through you."

"Is that what you saw in your vision? You saw Rava?"

"Yes. But her spirit doesn't seem to run in her family. She chooses someone worthy of her blood, so her actual descendants don't even have her blood. Like they're not even related."

"Neria, that's insane." Michael says

"One thing though, why does Rava have the power of lighting?" I ask.

"As the first mermaid of our kind, she ruled over us.Though no one's quite sure why she got the power, and up until now it wasn't even sure if her power was lightining, but it's believed itwas used as a combat power, and used to activate the Pearl Sword."

"Pearl Sword?"

"It's a sword created to defeat even the most powerful mermaid. It was used by Rava to triumph over her enemies, and could only be activated with her lightning. You're the only one who can use it, which is a plus side. It'll help you on the battle field."

Now, it was Michael's turn.

Sorry for not uploading for a while :( I was on holiday over Easter, and after that I was busy. Also, I finally uploaded the story I was talking about on my profile,  it's called 'The Ultimate', it would mean a lot if you'd check it out :))
