Walking downstairs, I grab my phone and my bag, when my mum shouts "Neria, sweetheart! Take this for your friends."
"Remember to wish him good luck from us!" dad adds, absorbed in his newspaper.
"Will do! Bye!" I answer them.
"We love you. No matter whether you're our born, you're still our dearest daughter." I pause and walk back, and pull them both into a tight hug. "I love you too. And... thank you. For this... it means a lot, you know."
Fast as lightning, I run to the beach to be earlier than expected, to surprise Michael. Since now we are in a... relationship, I want to do something nice for him every now and then.
When I get there I don't see anyone, so I decide to go and find a good spot to watch the competition. The I spot Tanya and Melissa from far away, so I wave over to them. "Tanya, Melissa! Over here!" I call over. "Coming! Good thing you found a good spot before the place got more crowded." they chorus. We laugh. Sometimes, Melissa and Tanya synchronized their speech, like they could read each others minds. "Where's Michael?" Tanya asks. "I've brought him surfer themed snacks, just look at them! Aren't they adorable? Eeeeeeek!" Melissa adds excitedly. She was definitely the most bonkers out us. "Why do you always make themed snacks instead of studying for test? No wonder you fail your tests, soon you're going to forget what two times one is." Tanya teases.
"It's three, right?" Tanya and I burst into laughter. "Why are you laughing? I was correct wasn't I?" she asks. An even bigger explosion of laughter comes out of us. "Melissa... that's two add one." I manage to blurt out through laughter. "Geez- Why do you always laugh at me? It hurts. Waaaaaaa-" Melissa fake cries and joins into out laughter.
Suddenly, I feel someone hugging me from behind and kissing my neck. Instantly, I feel my face burn, I was blushing intensively. "Michael!" I say, surprised "Weren't we going find a less sudden way of telling them?" I turn around to look into his breathtaking blue eyes. "I know, but I felt the urge to hug youuuuu!-" he pulls me closer and leans in for a kiss, when Melissa asks "What the hell is going on?!"
"Don't tell me you couldn't tell they had a thing for each other. The way Neria looks at Michael, and how he drools as he looks at her when she's not looking." Tanya answers. Melissa blushes with embarrassment. "Come on, Melissa. I didn't say that in a bad way." Tanya cheers her up. Now, I am blushing. I didn't realise Tanya thought about me an Michael like that. "Now, where were we?" Michael says as he goes to lean in for a kiss.
"Oh, Michael!~" I can recognize that voice from miles away. Nicole Brandt. The 'popular girl' who always had a crush on Michael ever since she saw him for the first time in high school. Though Michael noticed, he was never really bothered. Now, I realize it's because he always liked me.
"How are you? We haven't spoken in ages. We need to go on a date to a café so we can catch up! How about tomorrow at noon? At Starbucks?" she flutters her lashes to try to seduce him with her big green eyes and black hair. "Actually, I was hoping to go on a date with Neria." Michael rejects her and once again leans in for a kiss, this time successfully. He grabs my waist and I put my arms around his neck, closing my eyes."Wha-What?" Nicole stutters. Michael shows her his pointer finger as a gesture for her to wait. "But Michael- I thought you like me, not her. Especially not in those clothes. I thought you were always so unobtainable to flirt with me."
"What do you know about Neria that she and Michael can't be together?" Tanya steps in front of us as Michael and I finish kissing. "Because I'd like to know." he adds "Besides, what do you have against her clothes? I think she looks gorgeous. Like usual, anyways."
"Speechless? Well the now go AWAY from our Neria, and don't bother her- or you'll have do deal with the four of us." Melissa commands Nicole to shoo her away.
This chapter is a bit longer than usual :) What do you all think of Nicole?
