Quickly, I stormed out of the room, not in an angry way, more of a "What just happened ?" kind of way. Changing shoes and grabbing a hoodie, I walk out to the park nearby. I can't believe what they just said, Was it just a joke? Or were they serious? Different thoughts keep coming in and out of my head. Confusion. Anger. Sadness. Curiosity. I don't even know what to think. "Neria? What are you doing here at this time?" a masculine voice said. I turn around to look and realize it's Michael. "Hey, I... Umm.. Just to think... about things" I manage to say. Awkward silence approached and wanted to stay. "So... What happened? I don't think I've seen you like this for years. Since, you know, you disappeared..." Without saying anything, I stare into the darkness of the park. At this time, with no people around, the park looks eerie, as if taken out of a horror film. Once again, the awkward silence struck. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pressured you." he apologized. His bright blue eyes glistened in the moonlight, his wet blonde hair laid crazily o his head. He went surfing to train before the competition. "No, don't be sorry. I don't even know what to think right now. I'm the one who should be sorry, I made it look like I was ignoring you, but in fact just don't know what is going on."
"It's alright. Everyone has to go through hard times to learn." he comforted me and slowly pulled me into a tight hug, laying my head onto his chest and kissing my forehead. My whole body tensed up and heart started pounding. He blushed. Raising my head, I looked into his eyes, realizing that I, too, was blushing. He looked into my eyes, and grabbed my waist. Astonished, I stood there, when Micheal pulled me in and softly kissed me. "I've waited for this way too long."- he said just before. My face, normally white like a sheet of paper, turned into a tomato. "I'm sorry... I knew I shouldn't have done it." he said, and I smile and quietly laugh. "Don't be, please." then, I returned the kiss. Micheal grabbed me again, and we kissed, this time with more emotion, with lust, passion.
We both smiled. His face shined with happiness more than ever. "I need to go, but will you come to the surfing competition?" he said.
"Of course," he smiled "But, What about us? How will we tell Melissa and Tanya?' I asked
"Well, I think we're a couple now," my heart stopped from happiness " and we'll figure out how to tell them. Now, you need to get home and rest. I want to see you tomorrow." he kissed my cheek. "Goodnight"
"Goodnight, try not to worry too much."
" I'll try."
We separated, and I felt a bit empty because of that. I took a last glance at him. He was jumping up and down, like always whenever something amazing happened, but this time he kept shouting "WOOHOO!" and "OH YES! SHE'S MY GIRLFRIEND!" girlfriend. It felt great to hear it.
I listened to what he said and continued to walk back home.
