Alice had the best weekend ever, after hanging out with Bastille, Nick and Dave on Saturday and Sunday, when they went for a walk on the park and got some ice cream, and before Alice knew it, Monday was rolling around and it was time to go back to school.
She changed into her usual black leggings, oversized The 1975 t-shirt, black converse, black beanie, and black and white sweater, before walking into the kitchen still half asleep to make herself breakfast.
While pouring the milk over the cereal in her cat bowl (her favourite bowl; only hers), she heard voices coming from the other side of the wall - Dan's apartment.
''But Dan- I barely talked to her, and I'm not the most sociable person, I don't want to stay with her all day, she'll get annoyed at me because I'm a fucking loser-''
''Shut up and eat your breakfast, Dave. You're doing as I said because it's a great opportunity, and a great plan, and it'll work out alright. I'm sure she won't get annoyed. Alice's lovely and she likes you, trust me.''
''Likes?...''
''As a friend, you idiot.'' There was a pause. ''And even if it was more, I wouldn't let you two get together.''
''Why not?!''
''Because,'' Dan shuffled around, making some noise, and then water was running down the sink. ''you might end up hurting her and we don't want that now do we?''
''I wouldn't hurt her.'' Dave grumbled.
''Why are you even worried about that? Do you like her? Were you expecting to get together-''
''No, no no! Shut up, I don't like her.'' Dan laughed at Dave getting as red as a tomato, and Alice was chuckling too.
She finished her breakfast without listening to any more conversation in Dan's apartment, and was lost in deep thought. Dan said Dave has moved nearby, not in with him. The guy's like, 15, he can't just move in wherever he wants to.
After she brushed her teeth and got her rucksack, she lazily got her keys, opened the door and closed it, not bothering to lock it. She entered the lift right when Dan's apartment door opened, revealing him and Dave, both quiet and with a zombie face, which made her chuckle and get their attention.
- Oh, morning Alice! - Dan smiled and she smiled back.
- Hello. - Dave groaned, waving his hand.
- Hey. - She answered as they got in the elevator with her.
They had this sort of small talk until they reached the lobby, when Dan told her to get into his car because he was driving her and Dave to school for his first day.
- Dan, really, I can walk, it's just three blocks away. - She said as he pushed her towards his blue-ish old car.
- Nope, - He smiled, opening the door for her. - I'm taking you both there, you guys need to be friends. And you agreed to show Dave around, didn't you?
- Yeah, but-
- No but's, it was a deal, my dear Alice. - Dan grinned, looking at her frowning from the rearview mirror, and chuckled, speeding off to their school.

- Okay, we're here. - Dan said after a very short and uneventful car ride. - Have a good day, and don't get in trouble you two.
- Uh, thanks for the ride, Dan. - Alice quietly said. - And right, we won't get in trouble, though I'm such a troublemaker, wow.
Dan laughed at Alice's sarcastic expression and said his goodbyes and last advices to Dave before he went away, leaving the two of them at the gates, slightly nervous.
Before any of them could say anything, they heard Nick's voice calling them.
- AAAALICE! DAVEEE! HERE! - He screamed from behind, and he ran towards them, crossing the road quickly.
- Shush! - Dave hissed. - Our plan was to not drag attention, what happened to that?
Alice immediately started laughing, making them both look at her confused.
- What are we missing? - Nick asked.
- It's just that, - She said, trying to stop her laughter. - You actually thought you could get in here with me and not drag attention? Sorry, but it's not gonna happen.
- What? Why? Are you like popular or something? Are you gonna tell everyone we're related to band members? - Nick asked quickly.
- Nah, - She waved her hand. - Au contraire. I'm really quiet and don't have many friends... I'm the nerd.
- So how is being with you gonna drag us any attention? - Dave narrowed his eyes.
- Two new guys walking around with the nerd? Believe me, people will notice.
- Let's not... focus on that and just... face it, will we? - Nick hesitantly said, rubbing his hands together.
- Whatever you say. - Alice smiled and together they walked into school.

Turns out school wasn't that bad; they didn't drag as much attention as Alice thought they would, and the two guys managed to make friends in their forms, leaving her some time alone during the breaks.
By the end of the day, when they got out of class and directed themselves to the gates, Dan was already waiting there, Will by his side.
- HEY! - Will waved, and Alice shyly waved back while the guys by her side groaned, making her laugh.
- Come on, he's not so bad. - She said, smirking.
- Oh, he is. - Nick said right before they reached them.
- How was your first day? - Dan excitedly asked while they all entered his car.
- It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. - Dave said. - Alice was a great company.
- Yeah, indeed. Thank you. - Nick said, putting his arm over her shoulders, making her giggle nervously and nod.
Dave and Nick told Dan and Will what happened throughout the day while Alice was lost in deep thought, like she did sometimes.
Before she knew it, they were home, and she didn't remember walking up the stairs nor getting into the elevator; she just found herself in front of her apartment door, Dan and the others saying goodbye.
Confused and slightly scared, she said goodbye too, and entered her home, just to find something she was definitely not expecting.
