After classes, Alice met up with Nick and Dave outside of school; she came trotting over, trying not to get into Aly's sight as she was going to meet up with ''the cute new boys''.
- Uhhh, hey. - She panted as she reached them, bending down, one hand on her knee and the other one on Nick's shoulder, causing them both to laugh.
- Unfit are we? - Nick chuckled, and she punched his arm lightly. - Oww! - He moaned, rubbing his arm.
- Why are you running anyway? - Dave questioned, trying to stifle a laugh.
- I was running away because I… - She started, then immediately shut up, thinking if she should really tell them what happened. She decided against it. - …IIII missed you guys.
- Awww, come here. - Nick sang, pulling her in to a massive hug which made her slightly breathless.
Alice looked at Dave over Nick's shoulder, with a pleading face, asking for help; he just laughed.
- Lovely kid you are. - Nick poked Alice's nose once he let her go, and the guys laughed as she blushed, but pretended not to be embarrassed, flipping her hair over her shoulder and replying with a sassy ''I know, everyone loves me.''

Once home, as they didn't have homework (except for Dave, who hurriedly made it before they got reunited), they decided to have a movie marathon. Each picked a movie (The Breakfast Club, Dave's choice, Little Miss Sunshine, Alice's choice, and Burning Mississippi [I'm actually not sure if it's Mississippi Burning or Burning Mississippi but it's a good movie about the KKK nevertheless so], Dave's choice. They were all thanking the gods none of them picked a shit movie), chose the flat they'd see the movies in based on pros and cons (if you're interested, the list of pros and cons will be at the end of the chapter… and they chose Alice's) and then called shots on who wouldn't go out to buy them snacks. Nick lost, so he left Dave, Alice and the 15 kittens plus 3 cats (because Liv and Josh were both at work) alone on her flat.
- Don't get too romantic you two! - Nick screamed as he closed the door.
Alice and Dave both blushed, awkwardly chuckling.
''Yeah sure,'' Alice laughed in her mind. ''as if a guy like Dave would be with someone like me. Sure.''
''As if that was going to happen.'' Dave thought, sighing discretely. ''She'd never like a loser like me.''
They stood there in an awkward silence for a few minutes, before she started talking.
- Sooo…
- Uh, I, - He stammered, scared of what she was trying, starting conversation. - sorry. - He muttered looking down at his hands on his lap, which caused her to chuckle. His head shot up and his eyes searched hers in an attempt to get an explanation as to why she was laughing. Was he that pathetic? - W-what? - He quietly murmured, as if he was scared of her.
- Nothing, - She said, containing her chuckles. - you're just a… funny kid, Dave.
- Funny, like, how? Pathetic? Yeah I know. - He looked away, feeling tears stinging his eyes. He actually thought she liked him, as a friend, obviously. - Sorry. - He murmured as he rubbed his eyes, cursing himself for crying because she didn't like him; that was massively idiotic.
- No, hey, look at me. - Alice placed her small hand on his cheek and turned his head so he could face her. - You're not pathetic. You're just a bit… awkward. Like me, like Dan, I guess, and it's, it's sort of…
- Pathetic. But not in you. I mean, your awkwardness is cute.
- …sort of adorable. - She said, looking down at her hands. - You really need to let me finish my sentences. - She murmured, blushing furiously at the fact that he called her cute.
Dave was blushing too, still looking at her face. Just now he realized how pretty she actually was.
- Alice… - He nearly whispered, wanting to get her attention but not being capable of focusing enough to do so. - Alice, look at me.
She looked up slowly, barely having time to look at him properly or even think of something to say, before his lips were on hers.
Exactly when the door opened, and three people walked in.
Dan's Flat
Pros: there were Dan, Will, Woody and Kyle on band practice (for Alice); the couch was bigger and cosier; the TV was 50'', while hers was 42''.
Cons: there were Dan, Will, Woody and Kyle on band practice (for Nick and Dave); the neighbours upstairs were a couple of grumpy old ladies who hated any kind of noise besides the band practice (they actually loved Dan because every week he'd stop by their flat and give them some sort of grocery he bought on the corner grocery store and said he made it himself).
Alice's Flat
Pros: there were cats; there were more blankets; there was no one on the flat besides them; there were more spare pillows.
Cons: the TV and couch were smaller; there was no one on the flat besides them (for Alice).
