- Hey, hey, miss! - The man spoke and a shiver ran down her spine. - I'm really sorry to bother, but, umm, can you borrow me a hammer, please? We just moved in and we're setting things here and I couldn't find my tools.
Alice turned around in shock. The man realized she was just a child, probably entering the teen years.
- I... I can... umm... - She stuttered at the sight of her absolute idol standing right in front of her. Daniel Smith. From Bastille. In front of her. She blinked a few times and tried to talk again, unsuccesful.
She was hating herself a lot in that moment. Why couldn't she be normal just for once and speak normally?
- Umm, can I talk to your parents? - Alice nodded and got in, leaving the door half open. She exhaled heavily in relief, without realizing she was holding her breath.
- Josh! Liv! Guys! - She yelled as she ran upstairs.
- Hmmm? - She heard Liv groan from her bathroom.
- Dan Smith! He is here! He is our neighbour and he needs a hammer! - Alice yelled again.
- YOU SAID WHAT? - Olivia appeared in the corridor in her pajamas, holding her toothbrush and her mouth full of toothpaste foam. Alice couldn't hide her laughter.
It was weird that everyone in that house was a massive Bastille fan, and the lead singer just moved in next door, probably with his bandmates.
- I can't believe it neither. But he needs help, come on, where are our tools?
- Umm, I can't remem... wait, no, in the bedroom under the stairs. - Olivia said, running back to her bedroom.
- Potter tools. - Alice said and giggled as she ran downstairs again.
- I'll be there in a sec! - Liv yelled.
Alice opened the door to the small room and easily found the toolbox. It was kind of heavy, but she still carried it to the corridor that lead to the front door and then stopped; she decided to wait for Liv.
Liv quickly appeared in the corridor and shook her head in the doors direction, asking if Dan was outside. Alice nodded.
Olivia opened the front door and saw the tall man with the perfect quiff, amazing blue eyes, worn out all stars and the grey hoodie awkwardly standing outside, fiddling with his phone.
- Ahm, hello? - Liv called and he looked up. - You are the one needing a hammer?
- Yes... yes, thanks! - Liv handed him the tool box. - I just moved in next door, I'm setting things up here, it's all a big mess... I'm Dan, by the way. - They shook hands.
- I'm Olivia. And this is Alice. - Liv put a hand on Alice's shoulder; both of them were grinning uncontrollably.
- Nice to meet you, Alice! - Dan smiled widely.
- I... I am a... We... we are big fans, Da... Dan. - He was speechless for a moment.
- Really? - He ran his free hand nervously through his hair. - Thanks, I guess...
Even though Alice was awful when it comes to interact with people or making physical contact, she couldn't resist it. She ran and hugged Dan. After a moment of hesitation, he hugged her back. Olivia giggled from behind at the weird face Dan made.
He looked up at Liv while Alice was still holding him.
- She said ''we are big fans''. How's that? - He grinned and caressed the back of Alice's head.
- Yeah... me, my husband and Alice. We're Bastille fans.
- Oh, so you're married? - Dan seemed surprised. Alice finally let go off him and he placed a hand on her shoulder while still talking to Liv. - It looks like you're no older than 25. - She laughed a bit.
