"I've heard that the Phantom has been laying low here recently, isn't that strange? It's been like a couple weeks since he's gotten anyone." I heard someone say as I walked towards the general store.

"So have I, maybe he's actually given up."

"Maybe, I hope at least. I'm tired of waking up to missing items."

"Don't we all, it's for the best if he threw in the towel."

I've actually heard a lot about the Phantom Skye ever since I got that unaddressed package. I had a feeling it was from him, but I'm still not one hundred percent sure.

However, back to the topic at hand. I still remember what he told me that day when he stole my fertilizer too. He was acting like he felt bad for stealing it. At the time I didn't feel like he was being truthful at all. Now that I'm hearing all this talk about him laying low and not stealing.... that sounds odd. Why would he suddenly quit stealing? He's a professional thief, why would he just stop his only source of income out of the blue? I just I still will never understand that guy. Plus, I actually haven't seen him myself in awhile either. Normally, he's always trying to piss me off and trying to steal my things... then he just gives them back like we're good old pals. My train of thought slowly dissipates as I enter the store, I purchase my seeds and head back home.

I never expected to see a familiar sight of something stuck in my door when I got back. A small white envelope with neat handwriting. "Claire" was printed across the front.

"Skye." I muttered out under my breath as I grabbed the envelope. I head inside quickly and lock the door behind me. I sit my seeds on the counter and stare as the envelope in my hands. Why does he seem so interested in me? I don't think I ever gave him any advances, I just put him in his place really. I suppose I should open it and see what he said.

Claire,

You may have noticed I haven't been around town lately. I thought about what you said and I'm reflecting on it... I don't think I could ever stop being a thief for good, but I still feel conflicted by your words... I decided I should give you back everything I had taken from your grandfathers home before you moved in. If you want it, meet me down on the beach... you know the time.

Skye

I close it back up and sit it on the counter. So he really does feel bad. I honestly don't want to talk with him, but more importantly I need to get grandpas stuff back. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. Does the harvest goddess have a great time bothering me or something... I guess I'll never know.
