Chapter 27: Neon Blues

Wednesday ...

Summer

"Summer can you tilt your head slightly back a little?" the photographer asks her.

She lays her head back, resting it on the tub. The tub is filled with soap bubbles, as she blows some from her hand.

"That's perfect Summer!" the photographer smiles, as he snaps a few more.

"Okay let's take five then we'll resume with the next set."

Immediately, people rush up to hand Summer towels. She grabs one to cover herself, as she steps out of the pearly black tub. Her body is covered in pearls, rings and soap. They lead her into the dressing room. As she takes a seat, Josh enters the room.

"You looked beautiful out there." He says seductively

She grins and then scolds, "I called you here to help me with my anniversary ideas, that's it."

"Aw, don't be that way."

Even though Josh had accepted the fact that Summer was a lesbian, he still had a strong attraction to her.

"I'm not being anyway J.R.; I'm just not sure Demi is okay with us being in contact right now." she admitted.

Summer did feel suddenly guilty about Josh being here. She only needed him for the photographer and the set, but he decided to stay for the rest. He stood up and leaned forward. Placing his hands on the arms of her chair.

"We're doing nothing wrong." he kissed her temple

"I know, I just want this to go perfect."

"And it will, if you just let me do my job."

A knock was placed on the door.

"We're ready to resume Ms. Marino"

They got up and left the room.

Demi

Her hotel room was empty. She sat herself on the cotton white king-sized bed. Her hand moved along the comforter picking up each thread. Demi proceeded to open her laptop. She moved the mouse around and clicked on the video icon.

Her reflection was plastered on the screen with a small red glowing button at the bottom. She moved the mouse over and tapped the button.

First she fixed her hair. Then she took a deep breath.

"Hi, guys ... um it's about 9:00 am west coast time. Today is Wednesday October 3, 2013. ...I'm making this video to crush all the rumors and allegations you've been hearing these last few weeks. Honestly, my life has been a bit of a roller coaster over this year. Umm.. I recently lost my father to cancer, which was so fucking hard for me.. I umm.. have been honored for my philanthropy. I've been filming Xfactor and Glee. "

"But..umm one thing I considered very important to me, is to have some form of private life. And your probably thinking why did you do a book and all those documentaries and interviews discussing your struggles. Till now I've only talked about things I felt comfortable enough with to discuss. You know when I was younger, I didn't like talking about my bullying or anything like that. I also didn't want to talk about my dad at times, it was a sensitive subject. "

"Well this umm.. is one of those things.. well in an ideal world I wouldn't have to make this video... no one should give a shit honestly, but that's not the case. Recently, I was exploited all over social media. I was even miss quoted in an interview I did a few days ago. It made me feel really angry.. and frustrated ..and pissed to be quite honest, when seeing something about myself that's wrong.
