As Issac walked down the stairs, Amelia was left with nothing but to wait for this 'Will' to open the door. She stood waiting for a good 20 minutes, before knocking on the door once again. "Issac, I told you that I have the band round to help on some music! Ryan, will you open the door for me?" a voice from inside said as Amelia panicked, trying to look for somewhere to hide before the door opened. too late. she thought, as it was pushed open by someone who then walked away without even turning around.
"Um, hi" Amelia said, just as Issac walked up the stairs. "Oh, Will mate, this is Amy. she lives next-door and Ben is currently trying to make her little sister laugh by doing Yoda impressions" Issac said, pointing towards Amelia as she blushed. "Um, actually my name is Am. Well, it's Amelia, but everyone calls me-"
"It's you. If you live next door, your the girl that was playing that song last night." Amelia looked inside the room and saw several boys surrounding another one that was lying in bed, with tubes connecting him to a machine. Amelia smiled at him lightly, taken slightly aback by his appearance. "I need you to play that song for me. today preferably" He said, smiling back at her, wincing slightly as he sat up. "Will, you need to take it easy. you can't leave the bed. doctors order's?" Issac, said, gesturing for Amelia to come inside the room. "Well,i guess she'll just have to help me out of bed then, won't she?" Will said, smirking slightly as his brother laughed.
"You haven't changed one bit, despite having a terminal illness. if that's not motivation, I don't know what is" Issac said, helping him out of bed and then pulling a top over his head before telling the others to go home. "There's too many people here. Amelia needs to stay. Will deserves to hear that song and you all know it." Issac, said, before leading Will out of the room, getting Amelia to follow him down the stairs and past the kitchen, through to the little door that led to the basement, where Will and his band used to practice.
"OK, play the song, then" Issac said, before helping Will to sit down, then going over to sit on the bean bags they had in there. Amelia looked down at the floor, not wanting to play it with Issac in the room. There was something about Will, that made her want to play it for him, and him only. It was her favourite song, and he seemed like the kind of person to appreciate that. "Issac, mate, I know what your thinking- but, this song. I need to hear it again. Alone. Please." Will said, addressing his twin in a way that he never had before. "Alright, I'll go. give me a shout when it's done."
after Issac had left, Will slowly turned to her, looking down at his sock-clad feet, before meeting Amelia's eyes. "what's the song called? I know I've heard it somewhere before" He said, smiling at Amelia, noticing that she was wearing a Nirvana jumper, his heart jumped. she was his kind of girl. There was nothing that will loved more than a girl with decent music taste.
"The song is called Let It Be. The Beatles." Amelia said, smiling at him. "I knew it! That was my dad's favourite song. he left last year" Will explained, smiling in triumph of finding the song. "oh, i'm sorry. do you still want me to play it?" she asked, neither of them noticing that Issac had appeared at the top of the stairs with Will's mother. "I told you it was her. she's even wearing a Nirvana jumper. Will obviously likes this girl, and he only has 5 months left to live" Issac whispered as Amelia laughed at something Will said before starting to play the song. "Well, maybe she can change his mind about the Euthanasia." his mum replied, looking at the two teenagers who were giggling away as Amelia kept on getting the notes wrong. "Wait, what? he wants to cut his months short? because he's in too much pain, I presume?" he asked, suddenly more mad at his brother than he had ever been. "Yes of course that's the reason. she may be the only thing that can stop him from doing this" his mum replied, before turning and leaving the room, dragging Issac with her despite his protests.
Amelia knew this boy was really sick. That, in the real world, he would die in a few months and she couldn't do anything about it. So she pushed the fact that she loved his laugh out of her mind. She squashed down the feeling of electricity she got when their hands accidentally brushed against each-over and completely ignored the sinking feeling that she knew she was going to fall for him at some point. And when she did, she would fall hard.
