Chapter 5

Alex's POV

"Will you lay with me?" she asked quietly nearly falling asleep right there.

"Sure," I said climbing in bed with her.

I wrapped my arm around her. She rested her head on my chest and I felt her breathing become steady and even.

Raoul purred in content. We had everything we could have wanted in our arms.

Alpha. Jacob said via mind-link.

'Yes' I replied back.

There is a problem at the southern border.

'Can't you handle it?'

They want to see Luna.

I growled. Lia started to stir and I unwrapped my arm from her shoulders and left. Jacob and Hunter were already there. Leo must have been with Lia.

"What do you want with Lia?" I asked the rogue.

"That is between her, me and... her brother. After all they are the most powerful wolves since the gods walked the earth," he said.

The was about 5'6" with sandy blond hair and tan skin. He was to clean to be a rogue. "What pack are you from?" I asked.

"Blood Moon pack."

"What did you mean that Lia and Leo were the strongest werewolves?"

"What is going on here?" A new voice interrupted.

I turned around to see Lia. I was in trouble. "What are you doing up? You should be resting."

"Don't you dare change the subject. I woke up to my wolf telling me that you left. Then I find out that there is a rogue on the property. Did you really think that there is a rogue and I would go hide like the rest of our-your pack?" she said steaming mad.

"No I don't," my heart skipped a beat when she said out pack, "I know that you are going to be the first to any fight. You were sleeping and I didn't want to wake you. I am sorry." I went up next to her and wrapped my arms around her.

"Well this is an unfortunate turn of events," the rogue spoke.

Lia's POV

"Well this is an unfortunate turn of events," Evan said.

"Hello Evan. It's nice to see you again. Do you have any news for me?" I asked him.

"Yes I do but I prefer it if we talk in private."

"Not happening," Alex interrupted tightening his hold.

"Please Alex. This is the only way. I promise that when he leaves I will tell you everything," I said.

"No. I just got you back there is no way that I am letting you out of my sight."

"Please. How about you stay here and Evan and I will walk away where you can still see us but can't hear us. Does that work for everyone?"

"Fine by me," Evan said.

"Alex are you okay with this?"

"No but I can't stop you. If anything happens just call me. I won't be too far," Alex said giving me a peck on my forehead.

Evan and I went as far as Alex would allow. Evan told me about everything that happened when he left the first time.

"What news do you have for me?" I asked.

"Well my sources told me that the war was coming. You and your brother need to be ready. How much have you trained?"

"Not a lot. We started to but life happened and after nearly killing each other we had to stop. How long do we have?"

"Two months maybe three."

"Plenty of time to train. You know that you could have called to tell me this so why the personal visit?"

"What don't enjoy my company?" he smirked.

"Not really," I laughed.

I looked back at Alex and he was staring intently at me. I gave a small wave and he smiled and visibly relaxed. "Now what are you really doing here?" I directed the question towards Evan but didn't take my eyes off of Alex.

"Are you his mate?"

I turned to look at him, "please don't tell me that that is the reason that you are here?"

"Your answer will change my answer."

"Yes I am his mate now what is the problem?"

"Do you remember the part of the prophecy that states that the daughter of Selene and her mate will rule over all supernatural beings?"

"Yeah now what- no this can't be happening. This isn't real. Please tell me that you are joking and that this is a horrible dream."

"I'm sorry but I can't."

I saw black spots covering my vision. I heard someone say my name and strong arms caught me as I fell to the ground. The last thing that I saw before I succumbed to the darkness was Alex hovering over me.

I saw blackness. Evan words haunted my head. Alex and I were going to be king and queen of all of the supernatural world. I had just begun to accept the mate bond but this.

I felt someone tug in my hand. I felt cushioning around my body, as if I was being put on a bed. The sparks came next, Alex. He was here. I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't. I tried a few more times but I couldn't. Finally I tried one last time to see people poking me.

"Alex, where's Alex?" I asked anyone who would listen.

"Alpha had to wait outside while we worked on you. Now please lay still," a nurse said putting an IV in my arm.

I moved to take it out but more hands stopped me. "I just want to see Alex. Please let me see Alex," I pleaded with them.

They injected me with something and I began to fall asleep. With a last effort I took out the IV and tried to walk outside. My legs gave out and I crumpled to the floor. Someone came and picked me up bridal style and payed me back on the bed. I closed my eyes and the darkness took over again.  Hello my old friend.
