"I was worried, you took so long," the girl engulfed Carter in a hug. They shared the same dusty brown hair, and were similar frames.

"Get back in the room Madds," Carter still had his nervous energy around him but it wasn't as bad as when Thomas was there, he was able to speck without stuttering but would still hesitate a lot and he had a habit of looking around him; this made following him very difficult.

"Car what's happened?" Carter took her arm and guided her back into the room. I took this as a chance to get closer, I wanted to hear what he said. I stood and quietly walked to the door, making sure I was still close to the aisles in case I had to duck behind them quickly.  I crouched next to the door with my ear next to it. I could hear the muffled conversation through the almost rotted wood.

"We need to get out of here as quickly as we can Madds, there are others looting here, they have weapons and I don't trust them." I could hear things crashing together, being thrown about the room, I could only of guessed this was him filling bags.

"Where are we going to go then?" The girl, Madds, asked. I could here the panic in her voice, it reminded me of when Mac rushed us away on the first night. If she was this nervous about leaving their temporary shelter I would of hated to imagine what she was like when she had to leave her home.

"We'll find somewhere don't worry,"

"What happens when people find that place Carter? Are we gonna to leave there too?" for her age, the girl had sense. If her and Carter kept running every time there were more survivors then they'd be running for the rest of their lives, until one day they run into a horde. I decided then that I wasn't going to let that happen. I had an idea, I didn't necessarily think it through all that much, but it was an idea none the less.

I stood in front of the door and knocked. I was greeted by utter silence. So I spoke.

"Carter," I heard muffled movement, "We have a camp, you're welcome to come with us like I said before - your sister too. Carter we're not dangerous, I know Thomas seemed it but he didn't know what you would do. He was scared, the same way that you are now." I was still met with silence, "We have a truck, it'd be safer with us when to go on foot." This time there was only a slight hesitant second.

"You keep your friend away from Maddie and we have a deal." he waited a moment after saying this and opened the door. "Deal?" he outstretched his hand.

"Deal." I shook his hand. He picked up his, now much fuller, backpack and slung it on his back, along with a rather girly purple duffle bag that I guessed was Maddie's. She stayed behind her brother and her face was hidden by her long hair and overgrown fringe, she looked up at me once before fixing her gaze to the floor.

"Come on we best find the others," we made our way through the supermarket in search of the three others, no doubt that Thomas had already warned them of one person tagging along, I would of hated to think what they'd say about a second. Me and Carter had the same introductory conversation that I got from Thomas when I had first met them - how many people are in the camp, how far the camp it, who was in charge - it seemed weird to be the one with the information this time around. Carter wasn't amazingly happy when I had said that Thomas called the shots, but I ensured that he isn't as bad as he first seemed, Carter didn't buy that though.

"OH SHIT!" I heard Bradley's shout and broke into a sprint to where it was coming from with the other two following behind me. I turned a corner and there was the group, and boy was I glad to see them. I wasn't too pleased to see what was past them though.

The massive glass doors to the car park were shattered, and about forty of the infected and taken the chance to come for a midday shop. I would of suggested we run for it and get away, but then I realised where the truck would be; through our lovely friend that were heading straight for us. My grip tightened on my bat, now Bradley's shout made sense.
