"So, what are we going to do about the Carrows?"
Everyone was looking at Luna, Neville, Ginny and himself. Suddenly, Seamus felt very stressed. He'd never fully realised how much pressure had been put on Harry during his time at Hogwarts. In addition to all the defeating Voldemort stuff, they had always just expected Harry to have a plan. They put all their faith in him and just expected to pull it off while people very rarely suggested ideas of their own. Seamus wished he could go back and help, he wished he could take back all the horrible things he had said in his fifth year and actually help Harry for once... or at least give him some encouragement.
He would kill for some nice words of encouragement right now. Even though the pressure was spread out between four leaders, he still felt stressed. He had no plan and no ideas; his mind was completely blank apart from the clear image Dean Thomas lying bloodied and bruised in a ditch somewhere.
Seamus hadn't realised he was shaking until a gentle hand was placed on his shoulder.
"Are you okay?" came Luna's clear, Irish voice. It calmed him, Luna reminded him of home - but only the good bits of home like playing in the garden and freshly baked soda bread and fields full of bluebells.
"No, I need to go."
He ran, still visibly shaking, out of the room and into the deserted corridors. He had no idea where he was going until he found himself climbing the long flight of stairs up to the astronomy tower. It was where Dean always went when he was sad. Seamus remembered finding his best friend up here after Ginny had dumped him; they had sat there watching the sunset until darkness fell and Dean's tears didn't. Seamus had been secretly relieved but resisted the urge to grab Dean's face and put it on his own. Now, he wished he had.
"Seamus!" Luna called again.
He whirled around, tears streaming down his cheeks. "Leave me alone!"
She didn't. Instead, Luna walked straight toward him, her steps careful and her face pleading.
"Seamus," she repeated, softly.
He turned away from her and sunk down on the floor in a ball. Luna joined him and put an arm around his shoulders. Just like Dean used to.
"Talk to me Sea. What's wrong?"
"Why do I feel like you already know, Luna?" he sobbed.
"You miss Dean, don't you?" she quietly queried, "you never told him how you felt."
Seamus stared at her, mouth agape.
"What? How... How did you know I-" he fumbled. He thought no one knew. He thought it wasn't obvious. Maybe everyone knew.
"Please, not everyone in this school is as oblivious as Harry!" She seemed to notice his panicked state and quickly added, "I think Hermione and I are the only ones who know. It's a gift of the quiet ones, we notice everything. We see every single look and every single hidden blush. It's obvious once you start seeing the signs."
Seamus was intrigued by this. He hadn't stopped to think just how intelligent Luna was. He knew she was smart but he never thought she actually payed attention to people, she always seemed to be in a world of her own. It was in that moment that he decided he really quite admired Luna, not in a straight way, but as a leader and as a friend.
"So you noticed how I have a hopeless crush on my best friend - great! But he's gone and I can't do anything about it and he might be dead and I really want to see him and I hate Snape and even if I got him back it wouldn't fix anything because he's straight and I'm too scared to do anything and why am even in Gryffindor?" he rambled.
"Oh, Seamus no. I'm sure he's not dead - he's Dean Thomas, he wouldn't dare. And I'm going to let you in on a little secret Sea," she giggled. Seamus perked up at this, "if I'm not mistaken, Dean likes you back. I don't just notice you, you know! He hides it well but I can see it in his eyes. He's head over heels for you."
"What? Really! Please tell me you're not joking!"
"I'm completely serious," she laughed, "now let's get you back to the meeting so you can fight for him like the true Gryffindor you are."
Seamus was glad of this. After his talk with Luna, he felt on top of the world. He didn't even care if Snape caught him in the corridors because Dean Thomas liked him back and that was all he needed to fight every single one of his enemies single-handedly. Luckily though, he didn't need to fight just yet because he and Luna made it to the Room of Requirement unnoticed.
"Right guys," he said as he walked in, "is anyone here good at potions?"
A few people raised their hands. Seamus smiled at their confidence.
"We need Felix Felicis and Amortentia. Terry, Padma, can you do that?"
They both stepped forward out of the crowd. "We'd need some help and some people to steal the ingredients but yes we can do it."
"Okay, Ginny, Melinda. You're in the Slug Club, could you get the ingredients at the next meeting?" They both nodded in agreement.
Seamus was unstoppable, he had a plan! He had a plan and it was going to work! He was in charge and people wanted to help.
"Neville, can you get some the other ingredients from Sprout?"
"On it!" called a voice from across the room.
"Now, I need Hufflepuffs!" A whole load of people in yellow ties put their hands up. He chose a few second and third years. "Your common room is near the kitchens right? I need you to talk to the house elves for me - be nice to them, we need their help!" They all nodded in approval.
Everyone looked very relieved that someone was taking charge, but also very confused. Seamus could see many Ravenclaws with bemused expressions trying to piece all the information together. In his head though, it all made sense.
"Trouble-makers! I need you next!" Lots of people came forward, most of whom were Gryffindors.
"This is going to be quite a dangerous task but you guys can do it, I believe in you. You need to get Peeves to help you with this one."
"Okay, Seamus wait!" shouted Ginny, "I'm all for this taking charge thing but can you actually explain the whole plan before recruiting people for things? If it's going to be dangerous, we need to know if it's worth it."
"Oh, it's worth it!"

Hi. Today I'm angry and tired and sick but that's okay because I have Deamus. Deamus is my happy place, I literally spent the day searching through GoF for any mention of Seamus and Dean being together. I'm happy now I've written this, I couldn't handle a sad chapter.
Hope you liked it, bye
