"Ok Skypaw," The medicine cat mewed. "Go outside, play." Skypaw gasped in excitement. "Thank you Whiskertail!" She mewled happily. She stood up, stretched until she trembled and padded out of the den. It had been half a moon since the accident, and Skypaw finally got to play. Skypaw sniffed the clear air. "Finally," She sighed. "Not filled with the stench of herbs," She stiffly padded towards the fresh-kill pile and snatched up a juicy vole. Skypaw crouched down and took a mouthful. "I caught that," Skypaw turned her head to see Snowpaw smiling behind her. She swallowed and coughed before speaking. "It's delicious." Skypaw purred. "I see Whiskertail released you," Snowpaw mewed softly. "Look its Skypaw!" A tiny mewl came from the nursery. Spottedkit scampered over to her, followed by her littermate. Skypaw purred as they gathered beneath her paws. "You were so brave!" Cardinalkit squeaked. "Oakclaw told us that the mean cat Smokeleaf almost killed you!" The ginger kit's eyes were round with curiosity. Spottedkit pushed in Front of her. "Tell us what happened!" The tortoiseshell kit begged. Skypaw smiled. "I though Oakclaw told you," She mewed. Cardinalkit pushed back in front of Spottedkit. "Yes, but we want to hear it from you!" She sighed. Spottedkit hissed at her sister. "You pushed me!" She whined and pushed Cardinalkit. "You did first!" Cardinalkit complained. "Spottedkit, Cardinalkit!" Oakclaw padded angrily up to the kits. "Stop fighting, Skypaw will tell you the story later, okay?" The brown tabby queen looked up at Skypaw and dipped her head. "I'm glad your out of the medicine cat den," She mewed. "You are very strong, Skypaw," With that, she rounded up her two kits and padded off. Skypaw sighed and flicked her tail happily. "So, yes Whiskertail did let me out," She purred. Snowpaw nodded and lifted his tail, flicking it happily. "Well I'm glad," He mewed and nuzzled her pelt. Skypaw opened her mouth to speak but she was interrupted. "Skypaw!" She turned her head to see Rosepaw, Woodpaw, and Grasspaw running excitedly towards her. Rosepaw bowled her over and yowled happily. "Careful," Snowpaw warned. Rosepaw nodded and let Skypaw up. "Your finally out!" Rosepaw squeaked. "Yep!" Skypaw mewed as she wriggled her haunches. "I can't wait to go hunting!" Rosepaw nodded and looked smugly at Grasspaw. Then she looked back at Skypaw. "Grasspaw was really worried about you," She giggled. Grasspaw looked up sharply. "So what if I was!" He spat angrily. "So was Woodpaw!" He nodded his head towards the brown apprentice. Skypaw's ears turned hot with embarrassment. "Yeah, but you waited at the fresh-kill for you every day," Rosepaw mewed. "And cried yourself to sleep!" Grasspaw stood up, his fur ruffled with annoyance. "That's a lie!" He hissed. Skypaw flattened her ears against her head as the siblings argued. Snowpaw hissed at them and they stopped. "Quit it!" He growled, apparently annoyed. Woodpaw's eyes were narrowed. Rosepaw looked at the ground and Skypaw looked up. "So um," Skypaw murmured. "Sorry," Rosepaw muttered.
