"Okay, Skypaw are you ready?" Gorsetail challenged. Skypaw wriggled her haunches and nodded. "Hush it might hear you," She hissed quietly. Skypaw crept forward and tasted the air again. Then, she bunched up her legs and pounced. "Yes!" She yowled triumphantly. Gorsetail padded over and purred. "That's quite a juicy squirrel," He praised. Skypaw held up her furry catch proudly. Gorsetail dug up some earth and Skypaw laid it in the dent then Gorsetail covered it up. Skypaw pricked her ears and tasted the air. "I smell a mouse," She mewed. Gorsetail nodded approvingly. Skypaw crept into the undergrowth silently. "What a prey-rich Leaf-fall morning," Skypaw heard Gorsetail murmur happily. Skypaw stopped walking and spotted the mouse. It was fat and slow as it milled around. Skypaw smirked smugly and crouched slowly. She pounced and came out of the undergrowth with her catch. "Gorsetail?" Skypaw mewed behind her mouse. The gray warrior wasn't there! Skypaw dropped her prey. "Gorsetail!" She called again. "Where is he?" She hissed aloud. Suddenly, a loud yowl made her jump and unsheathe her claws. She spotted a large cat pouncing at her. Skypaw scooted aside and the cat landed with a thump beside her. The apprentice hopped onto the cat's back. She tasted the air. Gorsetail! The gray cat had planned a training attack on her! "I knew it!" She hissed playfully. She sheathed her claws and batted Gorsetail's back. Gorsetail flipped over, unbalancing Skypaw. Her father batted her belly with sheathed paws. Skypaw made a soft blow on Gorsetail muzzle. "Okay," Gorsetail grunted. "Enough," Skypaw jumped off of him as he shook dead leaves and earth off of his pelt. "That was very good," He purred proudly. Skypaw sat on her haunches and nodded. Gorsetail glanced at her mouse. "Nice," He purred again. Skypaw sat up and grabbed her mouse and the squirrel. "Let's go," She mumbled. Gorsetail padded ahead of her and Skypaw followed.

When they arrived in camp, everyone was talking. The apprentices were talking with there heads together. The elders were gossiping happily. "Wow!" Skypaw mewed. "Everyone is excited!" Twigstar leaped off if Highledge and padded towards them. "How'd it go?" The brown tabby mewed brightly. Gorsetail dipped his head before talking. "Skypaw did exceptionally well with hunting," He meowed. "And, I added in a sneak attack in there, and she took is great!" Twigstar purred. "That's great!" She mewed. "Soon, we'll need more room in the the warriors den!" The she-cat padded back to her den. Skypaw padded over to the deputy. "Vineleaf," Skypaw called. The black cat turned around. "Yes?" He asked. "Is Snowpaw back yet?" She asked. Vineleaf nodded towards the stump. "There," Vineleaf meowed. "Thanks," Skypaw waved her tail as she padded off. Snowpaw was eating a vole when Skypaw bounded over to him. Snowpaw took a bite of his vole and turned to his sister. "There you are," He mewed. "Guess what?" Skypaw mewled happily. Snowpaw cocked his head. "What?" He asked. "Twigstar and Gorsetail said I'm gonna be a warrior soon!" She mewed. "Snowpaw jumped up. "Me too!" He squeaked.
