Rebecca's POV

"-her boyfriend." Ethan cut me off.

His statement took me completely by surprise. In the second of silence, I managed to overcome the sudden shock and reply.

"Ethan, you're not my boy-"

Before I could even complete my question, Ethan roughly snaked his arms around my waist and pulled me towards him. I let out a gasp only for it to be swallowed by his lips on mine. He kissed me thoroughly, only letting go when we didn't have any more air. Gasping for breath this time, I put my hand on my chest, trying to control the racing of my heart. I ignored the shock waves running through me and instead tried to focus on what had just happened.

Ethan had kissed me. But why?

"Ethan, first of all, you, are not my boyfriend. Second, there's nothing wrong with Josh. Why can't I be with him?"

"Can't you see, birdie? He is bad for you. He's only trying to get in your pants. He doesn't actually like you." He almost shouted, glaring at Josh.

I scoffed. "But he is gay, you idiot. Why would he try to get in my pants? He likes yours better." My anger evident in my tone.

Evan's face suddenly slacked. "What?!"

He was shocked. Anybody with eyes could see that. Didn't expect that, buddy, did you?

I turned towards Josh and dragged him inside the house, closing the door. A second later, I heard Ethan call out my name but I ignored him. He deserved it after kissing Katherine and then lashing out in anger at Josh and me. Instead of clearing up what happened, he straight went to Katherine and then after that, he immediately made assumptions even when he was in the wrong. He shouldn't have drawn his own conclusions when I hadn't even introduced Josh to him.

Josh had been quiet all this time but now he spoke up. "What was all that, Becca?"

I sighed. "That... was Ethan..."

"Really? That's it."

"Fine, I'll tell you." I told him everything from the start. How we met, about Katherine, what happened between us. Everything.

Just as I finished, I looked up and saw a smirk on Josh's face. "So... you did find someone. My wittle baby is all grown up now."

"Josh."

"Sorry, my bad. But let me tell you, don't be mad at him for a long times because someone good in your life comes only once and you need to be smart enough to keep that person."

I smiled. "When did you get so emotional, Josh? Did you miss someone like that?"

"Yeah, I did actually..." He sighed.

"Wha-"

"-That guy I met five minutes before, because his heart was already with someone else." He continued, wiping away fake tears, with a mischievous look in his eyes.

Really, if there was a drama queen award, it would go to him, only!

Ethan's POV

How could I be such a f*cking idiot? I could have at least checked that guy out before getting angry and venting out my anger. On top of that, the person I kissed because of my anger had to be Katherine. Great! Just great!

I didn't know I could screw up this much.

My mom entered my room as I lay on the bed. "Ethan, dinner's ready! Come on down."

I sighed. "Yeah, mom."

"What's wrong, honey? Which girl did you hurt today?" My Mom came and sat on the bed next to me.

I sat up, shocked. "What? How did you know that?"

She shrugged. "I'm your mother, Ethan. I gave birth to you and I'm the one who raised you. I just know so let's discuss what you did."

I knew it was no use hiding anything from her now.

I looked down. "Mom..."

So I told her everything.

She listened patiently till I finished. "I don't know what to do, Mom. She hates me."

"Ethan, honey. If you like someone, the first step to liking is trust. You cannot start a relationship without trust. If you have broken it by cheating or by being suspicious of her, then you should try and make up. If you really trust that person, then you must see their motive behind every action. For now, go and ask forgiveness and show that you know you were the one at fault."

I sighed. Hearing that from my Mom put everything into the right perspective for me. I knew what I needed to do now. For Rebecca, I would do anything but I needed to start out with something small but special. Something which would guarantee her forgiveness.

My Mom got up from the bed and turned to go. Just as she was leaving the room, she stopped and turned around. "Come down for dinner and one more thing," She smiled sweetly, "quickly tell her that you love her and make her your girlfriend. Then bring her to meet me. I want to meet the girl who stole my son's heart."

With that, she left, leaving me shell-shocked once again.
