The next morning, I wake up to someone jumping on my bed.
I rub my eyes and look around to find Chance and Anthony bouncing up and down on top of me.
"Wakey wakey eggs and bakey!" Chance screams.
I grumble and try to hide under the covers, but they pull them off and throw them on the floor.
Now cold, I get up and put on a sweatshirt. I run after Chance and Anthony and try to tackle them. I chase them around the house until I get too tired to keep running.
Erika stopped at a bakery earlier and brought back bagels, so I sit at the kitchen table and eat one. While I am checking Instagram, Ivan comes up behind me and scares me.
I scream and give him a friendly shove. He laughs and kisses my forehead as he sits down. "Hey, want to go on a date later?" Ivan asks.
I smile. "My very first date with you! Yes, I'm so excited!"
"Great! Where do you want to go?" he asks.
I think for a second. "I don't know, surprise me."
"Okay, but be ready in an hour."
My jaw drops. "An hour? Are you crazy?! Don't you know how long it takes a girl to get ready!?"
He chuckles. "Fine, two hours. No more!"
I scarf down my bagel and run upstairs to Tessa's room.
"Tessa, help! I'm going on a date with Ivan in two hours!" I tell her.
"Oh my god," she says. "Congrats! But we have so much to do! Get Erika and we'll find you the perfect outfit."
One hour later, Erika, Tessa, and I are surrounded by a pile of clothes that didn't make the cut. I stand there looking at myself in the mirror.
"It's perfect," Erika says.
After many attempts, we finally found the best outfit to be a floral sundress, accompanied with Tory Burch sandals.
"Okay, enough staring," Tessa says, snapping us back to reality. "We only have one hour for makeup. Move! Move! Move!"
We giggle because she sounds like a drill sergeant.
Erika runs downstairs and hauls all of her makeup upstairs to Tessa's bathroom. We try to keep the look simple and natural.
When the second hour passes, we stare at the mirror and take in the final look.
"You look so pretty," Tessa tells me.
I smile. "I couldn't have done it without you guys. I'm really bad at getting ready for things."
They laugh and wish me good luck.
I walk down the stairs, everyone in the Team 10 house watching. I stop at the bottom, where Ivan is standing in khaki shorts and a polo shirt. I look into his blue eyes and smile.
"You ARE handsome," I say, making everyone laugh. I loop my arm through Ivan's and we walk out the front door.
"You look beautiful," he tells me as we walk down the sidewalk.
I push a piece a hair behind my ear. "Thanks. Where are we going?" I ask him.
He smirks. "You'll see."
After a few minutes, we pass through the opening gates of a park. It is quiet as we walk down a path.
Soon, we reach a patch off grass near a tree.
I gasp. "A picnic!"
Laid out on the grass is a Team 10 blanket, and on top of that is a basket and two plates.
We sit down and Ivan pulls two sandwiches out of the basket. "It's not much but..."
"Ivan, it's perfect."
I wrap my arms around his neck and pull him closer, our lips touching.
When I pull away, he says, "I love you, Laina. So much. I hope you know that."
I smile. "I do. I love you, too, Ivan."
