Understand this my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
---------James 1:19Patience-The key to most people's everyday stress. The only problem is being patient is easier said then done. Being impatient is not something we purposely do, it just happens. With that being said we can still work on it. When being impatient, we can simply notice it, and try to calm down and think.
I consider myself a pretty patient person, but sometimes I have those days where everything bothers me. I am impatient and moody. The littlest things make me want to scream. Someone can talk too much and they get on my nerves and then I talk about them. Being impatient can create a cycle of sin.
Impatience leads to anger and anger leads to hate or gossip. When you are not patient, it isn't just "oh I'm impatient", it completely changes your mood. It changes the way you view things and your attitude toward others.
When you feel yourself growing impatient, pray for patience and the ability to not get angry even if someone is testing your limitation. Take a few deep breaths and calm your nerves and brain.
Also, being patient helps us be more understanding. If we are patient, we are not constantly getting mad at someone for making a mistake, but we seek to understand why they did. Then, we can help them.
Be patient, therefore, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
