Blinding white, the buzzing of emptiness in my ears and a dull throbbing in my palm were all I felt when I opened my eyes. Were my eyes open? And what was that blinding white? Was it light? Whatever it was, it occupied my entire field of vision.
I blinked a few times to clear my vision. Where was I? The room, as far as I could see was white and bare. Was I in a hospital? The only furniture in the room, as far as I knew, was the hard bed that I laid on. I tried turning my head to observe the room, but my neck had gone stiff.
The buzzing in my ears dulled and was replaced by muffled voices. As my ears got cleared, I could make out a few words of the conversation.
'Do you think she's alright?' The first person said. I identified the persons's deep voice with the peculiar accent to be Tyler's.
'Yes, she is.' Said the second person who I determined to be a female because of her high-pitched, magical voice.
'But what happened to her? When will she wake up?' A third person with a voice exactly like mine said, clearly worried.
'She passed out because of extreme shock and exhaustion due to unrestrained use of magic. She should wake up in a few minutes. And, don't worry your highness, your daughter will be fine.' The second person said. She must be the nurse.
They were definitely talking about me. The nurse told the third person that her daughter would be fine. Did that mean that my mother, my real mother was here?
The throbbing in my hand deepened. A scream left my lips before I could hold it.
The loud sound of shoes slapping the floor in quick succession filled my ears. I counted two pairs of feet and guessed them to be Ty's and my mother's.
I saw Ty first. He looked like he was trying very hard not to rush towards me and stroke my head and ask me if I was fine.
Then my mother's face came into my field of vision. She was beautiful. Her features were perfectly defined. She had soft plump lips, a slender nose, voluminous auburn hair and flawless skin. I had inherited her auburn hair, elven nose and her eyes, her hazel fading into blue eyes.
Her eyes shone with tears that threatened to ruin her eye makeup but she seemed unfazed by that. She held my face carefully, as if too much force will break it.
'My child, my darling Leia. You've come back home. Finally I can lay my eyes on you again.' She said, her eyes looking into mine.
After that she kissed my forehead multiple times and the held my head in her arms while saying, 'Oh how much I missed you. My baby.. I love you so much.'
Before I could register what was going on, the nurse said, 'Alright Your Majesty, I'm afraid to say that you need to allow your daughter to rest. You may visit her in two hours time. Mr. Ethan, you too must leave your girlfriend to heal.'
In stead of saying, 'She's not my girlfriend!' He said, 'Take care Lei, take care.' And shut the door behind him
The last thing I saw before drifting of to sleep was the nurse injecting me with some kind of weird liquid.
