I know this isn't really EMS related but it's a fun little adventure I've had at the infusion center where I get treatment for my Lupus. I'll start with explaining Lupus, what it is and why I need treatment. Lupus is an auto immune disease where my body sees itself as a threat and attacks it. This causes violent inflammation in my joints and kidneys, when the inflammation gets bad enough they have to use chemotherapy to stop it. That's where our little tale begins, I was at the hospital for my first round of chemotherapy. It was here that I met Dale. Dale was a 80 something year old redneck who was in the chair next to mine. About an hour into our treatment Dale leans over to me and asks me if I was finished with my drink cup. I said "yes," and gave it too him, this man proceeds to take out a can of snuff and put half the can into his lip. About this time the nurse comes back around and looks right at Dale with a disapproving look "Dale, what is in your lip? You know you can't dip back here," Dale replies without skipping a beat "I ain't got nothing in my lip," and sips dip spit directly into the cup in front of her. She turns and trudges away clearly angered at being sassed, leaving me there trying not to fall out of the chair laughing. So, now I look forward to going to treatment and watching Dale be ornery with the nurses
