Ch5 ~ Friday night

That school day ended, finally, he thought. He hurled on his bag and packed his things away, getting ready to leave the premises and head home, until his two best friends towered over him. He looked up at the two soaring males and observed the mischievous smirks on their faces, blinking a few times in confusion. He didn't want to ask what they had planned, and even if he didn't want to he knew he was going to hear the reason for the annoyingly roguish smiles smeared across their faces. "come over Jin's place with us." Namjoon grinned, his dimples growing deeper the moment he got the full sentence out.

"Hmm," Yoongi hummed, packing the rest of his things away. "le' me think about that... no." he slung his bag over his back and made his way to the exit of the classroom. They both groaned, their shoulders slumping at the answer as they followed him down the hall.

"Oh my God why?!" Jin grumbled as he staggered after his best friend. Yoongi didn't know why he even asked that question, he knew very well what the answer would be if anyone asked.

"It's Friday night!" Namjoon added as he flailed his arms in the air, frustration evidently coursing through his veins. "Let's hang out! We're not going to be seventeen forever." And another one of Namjoon's lingering life talks, Yoongi inwardly groaned. He always went on about how short life was, how little time they had left of their teenage years. The boy was so fixated on the fact that he might die any minute of any day, of any year. He wanted to live, live his high school life to the fullest. Kiss the hottest people, go to the coolest parties, get drunk and make some bad decisions he might regret for the next ten years. He didn't want to leave his teenage life knowing he hadn't given his all, knowing he hadn't made some sweet memories he could look back on when he was depressed in his early thirties. I don't want to just exist, I want to live.

"Yes, but we will be for another few months." Yoongi joked, not taking his two friends seriously. They rushed past crowds and crowds of students, also hurrying home to sleep for the rest of the weekend.

"That's not the point!" Namjoon chuckled as he slung an arm over Yoongi's shoulder. The pink headed male rolled his eyes, preparing himself for Namjoon's life speech for the seventh time this week. "Pretty soon, we're going to have hair growing out our ears, our noses and maybe not even have hair as nice and conditioned as this anymore." He ran his free hand through his platinum blond locks, observing Jin's plump curved lips shaping into a flustered smile.

"Joonie–"

"Just think, you wanna be that old and still have your virginity intact?" Jin burst out laughing, clapping his hands in pure entertainment. Yoongi could swear he had died and gone to heaven as the wind screen wipers of Jin's angelic laugh, sounded in his ears. It sounded so heavenly to him, he forgot what Namjoon had said to make Jin bawl out in mirth. "Do you wanna be sixty and not have had a drink with your boys?" Jin was practically tearing up the school with his windscreen wiper giggles.

"I'll have a drink with you guys, no problem," he beamed as he reassured them. "but not tonight, Jimin's waiting for me to get back." The two towering males stopped in the middle of the stairs to look at each other in amazement, the hint of 'I told you so' leaking out of Jin's expression as they caught up to Yoongi in the shoe lockers.

"You're ditching us for your cat?" Jin asked, not annoyed as such, just irritated.

"Yeah, my cat has a lot of things on his mind that he needs to talk about every Friday." Yoongi joked. If only he knew how intelligent and ahead of his time Jimin was. "He and I have these deep conversations every week, it's kinda like this tradition we have." He chuckled to himself. Jin rolled his eyes, not able to comprehend why Yoongi was so attached to his feline companion. That was a lie; Jin knew exactly why Yoongi was so attached to the cat, why he loved him so much.

"C'mon!" Jin begged, swinging his arm around like a spoiled girlfriend would. "Just this once I promise!" Yoongi wouldn't lie; Jin looked like a lot like a girl. One could argue he was even more beautiful than most of the girls in the school, and Yoongi would certainly side with whoever contended that fact. The pink headed male had never set eyes on someone so gorgeous; he'd beaten any girl Yoongi had ever seen in the looks category by a long shot, sometimes he could even remember when Jin would run around with his hair flowing in the wind and skipping through the tall grass when they were children. And even then... Yoongi had never been so mesmerised by a woman, no one even resembling Jin with such grandeur.

"Jin you know I can't," Yoongi smiled sadly, wondering why Jin was so desperate to have him over. Still, he couldn't say he was exactly complaining. "Jimin's waiting for me to get home." He walked out of the vicinity, but still the two males pressed on like it was their life's purpose to get him to come over.

This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for him, Kim Seokjin, heartbreaker and most visually blessed human to walk the face of the earth, to be serving up such undivided attention to one person, to be begging someone to come over to his house. Yoongi should have been over the moon, but he'd known Jin so long, he knew he couldn't have been asking him to do anything unusual from what they normally did at someone's house. He'd get stuck playing Mario kart with Jin and Namjoon, they'd do some homework and then eventually fall asleep on the sofa. It would be exactly the same, except this time... they'd have alcohol.

"Yoongi..." Jin pouted. "Just this one time... you never hang out with us on a Friday anymore... or on any day after school. We miss you pal." He punched Yoongi playfully. Yoongi looked sympathetically at the two males, beseeching for his presence at Jin's household, on this wonderful Friday afternoon. They joined their hands in front of their mouths and uttered a pitiful "pleeeeeeease" before faking some pathetic doggy whimpers.

"Ok..." Yoongi sighed. Jin and Namjoon lit up with excitement and relief, until they heard what the pink headed musician said next. "...just let me get someone from home before I come with you..." Surely you didn't think he was going to leave Jimin waiting... did you?
