When we have landed in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), we take a cab to AJ's house. I have never been to Kuala Lumpur before and everything that I see once we have landed, amazes me.
"How far is your house from the airport?" I ask her whilst putting our luggage in the car boot.
"About an hour or more," she coughs at the end of her sentence.
"You know, you have been coughing a lot lately. And I think it has worsen today. Are you okay?" I now remember that she has been coughing ever since we were at the airport in Seoul. She couldn't even take a nap in the flight all the way here.
"Yeah I am fine. I guess. Don't worry okay." When I am trying to feel assured of her words, there she goes again, coughing.
Upon our arrival at her house, we are greeted at the sight of her mother on a wheelchair.
"Hey mum." AJ gives her mother a hug that she had been missing for a few years.
"This is my friend who is working with me at the office, Nayla, I have told you about her."
Her mother gives me a smile before letting out her arms to give me a hug as well.
"Thank you for helping my daughter packing her stuffs and even come down here to give her support." Her mother caress my head and shows me her motherly smile.
"Actually I am just returning the favors to her. And it is your daughter who have helped me going through a lot of things while I am working. I owe her a huge time." I explain to her mother.
"Both of you must be tired and hungry. So, which do you want to do first? Eat or take a rest?" Her mother is looking at me when she asks the question.
"Eat. I think my stomach couldn't even handle all the hungers that I am feeling right now," I answer her spontaneously. Both AJ and her mother laugh at my spontaneous act.
We eat dinner together and her sister who just come home from work is also joining us.
Days have passed and it has already been two weeks that I have stayed at AJ's house and helped her taking care of her mother. It also means that I have to go back to Seoul to resume all of my responsibilities as a stylist there.
"I really wish that I could stay here longer." I give both AJ and her mother a hug.
"You can come and visit us anytime you want. Even during the holidays." Her mother says when I am hugging her. I could tell that she also doesn't want me to leave just yet.
"I promise that I will come and visit during Christmas then."
"Okay. Don't ever forget that." AJ returns the hugs from me. "I am going to miss working with you."
"Ha! You miss working with those seven dorks more than working with me I bet!" I try to tease her, but both of our eyes are filled tears that we couldn't even laugh at the joke.
"Tell them I said hey okay. And please tell them to behave." She is wiping her tears that have fallen down from her cheeks.
"Okay. I will tell them that. Promise that you will come and visit us in Seoul?"
She just give me a nod. I wave them goodbye at the departure hall, turn my back and walk straight to the security.
'He' will miss you the most AJ.
