Another Spring Day

Chapter Fourteen

It's finally Saturday. That means it is the day for the concert and also the day that we are able to see AJ again.

There are 30 more minutes before the concert starts and the members keep on asking when will AJ arrive.

"Nayla, it's true that AJ is coming right?" Namjoon asks me the question when he is getting his mic on.

"Yes, stop worrying will ya? She will be here any minute now." I am kind of impatient myself to see my friend again.

Jimin asks me how AJ's mother is doing and I tell him that she is fine. I even tell them that her mother can walk now as she has miraculously healed a few months ago.

"WHAT?!" the members ask in unison when I have finished updating about AJ's mother.

"Sorry. Did I forget to tell you bout that?" I say, apologizing because of my forgetfulness.

"DUH!" They say in unison again while rolling their eyes. They are really good at synchronizing with each other. They just couldn't believe that I have forgotten to tell them about it.

"Why she didn't tell any of us? It feels like as if she is hiding something from us." Yoongi say while making his own assumptions.

"Well.." I was about to tell them the most important information when suddenly Jimin screams "AJ noona!"

AJ is at the door and Jimin sprints towards her. Everybody looks at the door and follows Jimin from behind. They each gives AJ a hug and screams as they couldn't believe to see her again.

"OMG! We miss you so much," Hoseok exclaims.

I look at AJ for a moment before I say, "Well, she misses you too. Whenever I visit her during Christmas, we would talk about you guys, day and night." She nods enthusiastically at my point.

"Hey, why are so quiet? Cat got your tongue?" Seokjin who just realized that AJ hasn't even said a word since she came in.

AJ grins at him and looks at me.

"There's one more thing that I forgot to mention to you guys. Well, while she was back in Malaysia, her sore throat has gotten a lot worse. At first, the doctors merely say that it was merely normal sore throat, but as time goes by, and after a few more checkups, we found out that she had a tumor in her voice box." AJ puts an 'okay' sign to the boys to ensure them that she is okay.

Suddenly Yoongi hugs her and I give him a smirk when he is looking at me, to which he returns with a wink.

"Pabo! So what? You're fine? We're not," he says. He breaks the hug and look directly looks into her eyes while his grips are firm on her shoulders.

AJ could only mouth 'Mianhae' (sorry) to him as a return.

"Long story short, we had to remove her voice box." I continue as I look at the members one by one.

Jin steps closer to her "Come here you," he says and gives her a hug. "I miss you so much. We all miss you, you know that right?" She returns the hug and gives him a nod, obviously could no longer hold her tears.

I wipe my teary eyes as I watch this moment.

I am so glad to see that my friend is okay. When she learned that she couldn't use her voice again, she was kind of heart broken. She told me about it and I felt so sorry for her. But to her, she will never make this as something that stands in her way to enjoy her life. Yes, she has lost her voice, but she is still alive. She is always and forever thankful for that and for having us in her world to call friends.

"Boys! You're on standby now. Quick!" The stage manager calls them.

They give her one final group hug. and Taehyung says, "We'll see you after the concert, okay?"

She just nods. "You promise?" Jungkook who is looking very reluctant to leave, makes her promise that she will stay until the end of the concert. They pinky swear each other. AJ just smile at Jungkook's childish antics.
