Chapter Twenty-Two: Camp

One Year Later

Clem's POV

It's been a year. Gabe was still alive. I underestimated him. I knew deep down that he could make it, it was just a strange feeling. I don't know why. It's my fourteenth birthday in a couple days. Gabe already had his. I snapped out of thought when Gabe stopped walking. It's been a quite a year. It's just me, Gabe, AJ, Becca, Jesus, and Molly. A lot of people died. It was turning night. We were walking down a long road in the forest until we came to an opening and that's where we were now. 

"What Gabe?" Molly asked as she walked up to him.

"Do you see that?" He asked.

"Yeah. I see it." Jesus said.

AJ pointed. He was also four now we taught him to walk and he's talking more too. 

"I see Gabe!" He exclaimed.

I laughed.

"What?" He asked.

I shook my head and smiled.

"Nothing." I said.

"Smoke." Becca said.

There was smoke in the sky.

"That has to be a camp." Gabe said.

"We sneak up. Don't let anyone see you." I said.

We pulled our guns and snuck up to the camp. I crouched behind a log with AJ.

"Stay here. If you see a walker, run to me." I whispered.

We all snuck over to the camp and looked around. A fire, four tents, and a pot wit beans beside the fire. Jesus checked the first tent. Molly checked the second. Becca checked the third. Nothing. I crept over to the fourth and heard slight moans. It didn't sound like a walker. I unzipped the tent slowly. There was a boy and a girl my age making out. The girl opened her eyes and looked at me. She jumped back and the boy looked at me. I put my hands in the air. 

"Please don't hurt us!" The girl pleaded.

The boy held her.

"Please." He said.

Everyone walked over to me and we backed up.

"We aren't going to hurt you." I said.

AJ came running.

"CLEEEEEEEEEEEEM!" He screamed as he ran towards me.

A walker was walking towards us. I shot it.

"That was loud!" AJ said.

Walkers began to walk out of the woods. We all began to shoot. I shot a walker but another one jumped on me. I held it off. It tried to bite me. I was struggling. The walker was about to bite my neck but it got shot. I looked up and saw the girl holding a gun. She helped me up.

"Thanks." I said.

She turned and shot more walkers. Then machine gunshots went off. All the walkers dropped but more kept coming. 

"RUN!!!" Gabe yelled.

I grabbed AJ from a tent and we all ran. We kept running through the forest. I was behind everyone because I had to carry AJ. I heard other people and looked to my left. There was the boy and girl, and five others. Three of them had machine guns, one had a sniper, and the other three had pistols. I kept running. I looked ahead then heard a voice.

"I'm Grace by the way. That's Gill." The girl said.

I swung my head to see her running beside me.

"I'm Clem." I said.

"My people won't hurt you unless you hurt them." She said.

We kept running until we reached a city. Our group stopped. 

I was far behind but caught up. 

"What?" I asked.

"Holy shit!" Molly exclaimed.

The other group aimed at us.

"WHO ARE YOU?!" One of the men said.

Grace jumped in front.

"It's okay Jeremy! They're friends." She said.

"Whatever, we have to go!" One of the women said.

"Follow!" Jeremy yelled.

He led us all to a parking garage. There were three RV's. A small one, and two large one's.3 He hopped into an RV and me, Becca, Grace, Gill, Gabe and AJ got into the back. Everyone else got in different RV's. We took off. 

"Thanks." Gabe said.

"No problem." Grace said.

"This is Gabe, Becca and AJ." Clem said.

45 Minutes Later.

"We're here!" Gill exclaimed.

We got out in front of a huge school. It looked like the school C and G told us about. Where they lived. We went inside a huge dorm that looked like an apartment building. We entered one of the rooms. It had couch's, a bunch of beds and cots, and A LOT of food and water. 

Maybe we can call this place home.
