What will become of us?

Chapter 9

I look at the map that I had gotten at a gas station about three hours ago. I had no idea where I was going, the map was so confusing. I thought turning back when a sign that said Kansas came up. " Woohoo I'm always there!" I screamed excitedly. Just 2 more miles until I get to uncle Tommy's house. My family's there they have to be. They just have to. About 20 minutes later I arrived at my uncle's house. It's been so long since I've been here. It was really huge from the last time I saw it. I walked around the yard to see if Betsy was there but no surprise there she wasn't. I went in the house and there were dead bodies everywhere I'm surprised the smell wasn't carried outside but I smelled it right when I had got in, it was disgusting I wanted to throw up right at that minute but something stopped me. I looked more closely at the bodies and they weren't my family. I was highly confused. What were they doing in my uncle's house? And does this mean my family is still alive? I continued to search the house when I found a note from my family. It said that they were all safe and there going to travel to Washington D.C to the national camp that was going on there and they hope to see me safe and all love me. " Omg their alive!" Tears in my eyes I scream "their alive!!" Wow I can't believe there alive and well. I need to hurry, I mean they couldn't have left that far along if the note was still fresh. So I have to hurry!! I ran among the house gathering supplies for me and my family. There going to need it no doubt.
**Back at the Police Station**
" Hey I found a car and it has keys!" Skyler yelled to Mason. " Lets hurry up and get the hell out of here, before the zombies come."
" Zombies...? That's what you call them?" Skyler asked amused. " Yeah something wrong with that?" Mason said amusingly as well. " Lets get out of here." Skyler said softly. Now in the car " So where do you think she would've went?" Mason asked. " I know her grandma lives a few miles away." Skyler replied. " Then, lets head towards it." Mason said admirably.
**Back to Julianne**
Continuing my road to find my family. It's going to be a dangerous path am I really ready for what the world is heading to. I honestly don't know. But I feel like I'm going to faint. I fall to the ground and I can see the bodies staring at me, all staring at me like I'm suppose to save the world and then I fall asleep.
***Back to Mason***
"Wow your a fast driver." Mason laughed. " I know that's why I got arrested twice." Skyler laughed along. "Do you think she's here?" Skyler turned serious. " I don't know, but the only way we know is if we check it out." Mason said supportably. They checked the house and like Skyler had suspected at first Julianne wasn't there. " After she came here she must have went to her uncle's Tommy house, I know it's in Kansas but I only been there once so I only remember half way." Skyler sighed. " Well we should hurry and get there before we run out of gas." Mason suggested.
**Back to Julianne**
I woke up about 6 hours later. Why had I fainted? I admit I haven't gotten much sleep but it's only been a few days has it? When I try to get up I'm so drowsy. I think I need to sleep or I need to eat I've haven't ate in 2 days because I've been saving my food for my family. I think I really need it. As I try to stand up to get to the car for some food I immediately fall down again and go back to sleep. I dream of my family and the fun days and future days to come. I dream that my family and I are at the park and we're flying a kite together and my dads having a romantic lunch with my mom and we're all happy. Why can't it be like that everyday? Why can't I have a perfect life?
Why does the world hate me?
" Julianne, Are you in here?" Skyler yells. " Oh my god are you okay?" " Mom, is that you?" I say hysterical. "No it's Skyler, Girl wake up!" "Skyler, what are you doing here?" I ask. " We came for you. The police station was overrun by zombies and everyone left us." Skyler says sadly. " So me and Mason came after you." "Mason, he came?" I say admirably. " Yup I sure did, I wouldn't leave Skyler alone and neither you." Mason pops up behind Skyler. " We have to survive together."
