Lawlight in Chains

When L told Light that "You and I will be together 24 hours a day" Light didn't realise he meant they would be handcuffed 24/7. "Ok then" he said, in what he hoped passed for a reluctant voice. "Anything to prove my innocence" (Anything to be around you L, he was thinking) It was hard for him to hide a smile, to keep a "straight" face. Light was anything but straight. He had always attracted plenty of girl's attention but never felt any interest back. He'd always thought it was because the ladies he knew were beneath him intellectually, but since meeting L he knew that wasn't it. L wasn't beneath him intellectually, but Light wished to have him beneath him in other ways, or on top of him..."Ok focus Light" he told himself. But all he could focus on was L's cute little face. Did he detect a slight eagerness there too, or was that just wishful thinking? God, L always looked so cute...

L felt butterflies in his stomach at Light's quick acceptance. He couldn't believe his luck that he hadn't put up an argument. Though L found Light so hot when they argued...He had had this chaining idea on his mind for weeks and now it was actually happening. Of course the important thing was to catch Kira, oh hell the important thing was being as close to his first "friend" as possible, and now he had a perfect excuse. He'd never had a crush before, having been so sheltered growing up in Wammy's House, and since then he was too busy being the world's greatest detective. He had dreamt of falling in love, as so many do, and thought for a minute that he maybe liked Misa, but cute as she was, it was Light who sent his heart racing.

"When do you want to do it?" Light asked. "I mean, when do we need to start?" Light hoped he wasn't blushing at his blunder. He just wanted to do this. He didn't know why he felt so flustered sometimes around L. He was Light Yagami, Mr Confident. But when L looked at him with those adorable puppy like eyes, his heart fluttered. And when he tried to look away, his eyes went to L's body and his thoughts turned filthy. He almost wished he could hate L. Almost. But he was too darn cute and made him feel happy like no one ever had before.

Misa wanted to go on a date with Light that night and L said he'd have to come too, but Light said it would be too awkward, three's a crowd and all that. Misa wasn't happy of course, but L didn't mind at all.

They sat in L's sitting room that evening, watching some stupid movie, or pretending to watch it. Really, both were too aware of each other and how close they had to sit, being handcuffed and all. Each was also thinking about how they would have to sleep in the same bed. Both felt nervous and excited, and praying the other felt the same way. The movie seemed to go on forever as they both just wanted to go to bed, but neither knew how to suggest it. When it finally ended, there was an awkward moment of silence. Then L asked Light if he wanted to watch another, but Light said he was too tired and that he found most movies boring anyway. L was too nervous to suggest they go to bed, so he suggested making tea and cake instead.

Light felt slightly disappointed, but his heart also melted a little at L's L-ness. Him and his cake! Maybe he could be L's cake sometime...before his mind could wander off on that thought, L was instructing him on how to set up the tea cups and plates for cake on a tray. As L's back was to him while making the tea, he was able to smile a huge grin at his crush's adorableness. His little tea tray and his bossiness when it came to something he loved, cake! "Please let him love me too" he thought.

Soon the tea and cake were all set up on the tray and placed on the table. Again they had to sit close, and use opposite hands to eat and drink. Their hands got a bit criss crossed while pouring tea, milk and passing the sugar and cake. They both broke into giggles which broke the ice and were soon feeling more comfortable with being alone together. They started messing about, eating and drinking with their hands crossed over each others, and kept looking at each other, smiling and giggling.

"This is the most fun I've had maybe ever..." L said, then looked away feeling self conscious and afraid he'd ruined things now. Light could see that L felt uncomfortable, and it broke his heart. "Hey L, look!" L looked at him and Light lifted a piece of cake to L's mouth. L giggled and let the other guy feed him, then he returned the favour and fed Light some cake. For once in his life, L wanted something more than he wanted cake. Oh how he wished he was the cake that Light was eating, just to be touched by Light's mouth...

As he was thinking this, Light suddenly leaned in and his mouth was on L's. L couldn't believe his wish had come true just like that. He kissed him back of course, and their handcuffed hands held each other. They kissed and kissed for ages, still holding hands, then they smiled at each other happily and just hugged for a while.

"I've wanted to kiss you for ages," Light finally spoke.

"Then kiss me again" L said, and so he did. They lay awake all that night holding each other, talking and kissing.
