17- Burgers

Isabella's POV:

I'm cooking for Liv's friends. Yes, I'll have my house full of little children running around. Liv wanted to have a party here, and she invited all of her friends from school. I'm so stressed trying to season the meat for the hamburgers carefully, not too salty, but not without flavor. I continue running side to side on the kitchen trying to read the recipe, fry the potatoes and trying to find the ketchup and the cheese. Suddenly the door of the kitchen opens and is Cassie.

"Hi Bella, want me to help with that?" She said. I nod.

"Yes please, watch the potatoes while I search for the ketchup. I'm such a mess." I say searching all the fridge trying to find where the hell I placed the damn ketchup. I look at the end of the fridge and there it is. Huh got you! I take it along with a little cup and start pouring some. The fries and the burgers are ready, so I decided to make each plate look spectacular. I go to my bedroom and get myself ready, along with Liv who already picked an outfit. We were all ready just when I hear the doorbell ring. I go downstairs and there are some of Liv's friends along with their parents.

"Hi Liv's mom!" said Charlie, a friend of Liv's.

"Hi! How are you?" I say to him and his mom Danielle.

"We are very good." He says. As soon as he looks inside and sees Liv he runs up to her and they hug eachother. How cute!

"Aw they are really good friends!" I say to Danielle.

"Yeah thats right." She said and we continued our way to the house.

The kids arrived, and they were all happily eating their hamburgers. Liv looked so happy talking with all of them.

"So Liv, when is your dad coming back?" Said Hazel, she's another friend of Liv's. She has blue eyes amd black hair, she's a pretty little girl.

"I really don't know Hazel. But mom says he'll be here soon." She says smiling.

"Good! I want him to tell us all about his trip, he traveled the whole world right? That's why he went away for so long?" said Hazel. Ok, let's say we lied to Liv and her friends saying that Justin went away ona trip far away and that's why he's not here. At first, Liv suspected there was something wrong and had doubts that "the trip" was true. But then Liv decided to believe it.

"Yeah. I can't wait!" she said so happily.

"Liv! My mom was watching the news and I saw a guy that looked just like your dad and even had the same name! They said he was on jail. Right mom?" said Charlie calling his mom. Oh no, we're screwed. Charlie's mom looked at me wide eyed but tried to play it cool.

"Yeah, but he was just a look a like." She said smiling at Liv, and Liv smiled back. The kids continued talking and it was almost six o'clock. Oh my God, I'm so tired. The kids and their parents started leaving. Charlie was the last one to leave. Danielle was talking with me and Cassie.

"You know how boys are, now Charlie won't have the toy Joe promised him since last year because he forgot to buy and now its all sold out. It just makes me so mad that he's not there for him on anything, he just works and works. He's basically buying his son and Charlie really needs him!" Danielle says letting it all out.

"At least he's trying Danielle, give him a little bit more time." Said Cassie trying to calm Danielle down.

"Cassie's right. Give him some time. Maybe he's just really stressed." I say agreeing with Cassie.

"Thanks girls! You always make me see things from a different perspective." says Danielle hugging us.

"Thats what friends are for right?" I said smiling.

"Well, I gotta go. Charlie is already falling asleep right now on your couch. See you soon!" She says taking Charlie on her arms and getting on the car to leave. When she does that, I lock the door.

"Ugh what a mess!" says Cassie.

"Yeah, I just want to sleep." I said looking at the mess ahead of us.

"Let's just sleep. This mess can wait until tomorrow." Cassie says. I nod and take Liv on my arms. Just when I'm going upstairs I hear the doorbell echoing through the house. Cassie looks at me with a face that said: oh no really?

"I'll take it don't worry. It must be Danielle. She must've left something. Put Liv to sleep please?" I say to my sister and she nods taking Liv from my arms.

I go towards the door and start unlocking it. I open it to see the a man with a black hoodie over his head. I get extremely scared and try to close the door on his face but his foot stops the door from closing.

"Bella its me." says the man and he lifts his head from his hoodie. I couldn't believe it. He's here, and I don't know how to feel about it. He wasn't supposed to be here, I was definetly not prepared for this. What shall I do now? Should I let him in? Should I call mom? Can I even tell Cassie? She'll be so surprised when she sees him. I'm a mess, I don't know what to do, really.
