Over the next week or so, Liam's condition gradually improved – the doctors and physical therapists working with him every day to help him with his walking. Of course, having Cheryl, Sophia, and Austin visiting him as well as his friends and family helped him improve as well as he could feel their strength and good vibes around him to keep going. Within the week – on the Wednesday to be exact – Liam was allowed to come home, which was great as Cheryl truly missed having him around the house and sleeping next to him every night. Sophia and Austin loved having him home too; it being clear that Austin genuinely missed his daddy as he curled straight up in his arms and kept smiling at him and such.
In addition to making sure Liam was sorted and visiting him every day, Cheryl had also been quite busy at work lately. There was a new case she was working on with a few other lawyers which was quite the big deal, and then obviously, there was the crap with JB that was going on. She had called for him to meet her on Friday in her office; though JB was under the impression that Cheryl wanted to talk to him about something personal which of course, he jumped at the chance at. He had no idea how bad things were about to get; he had crossed the wrong woman now.
Today was Thursday and while Liam was at home as he wasn't allowed back to work yet, he remained at home and just kept the kids sorted while Cheryl was at work. Today was a busy day at the law offices; Cheryl having been out all morning at the city jail visiting with a client whom she would have to be in court for soon, and then she'd come back to a meeting with Tre about his divorce which would be going to court in the following week for the decision about it. After her meeting with Tre, she was sat in her office to do some paperwork and other stuff before going home, only to be interrupted in the middle of her work by the office phone ringing loudly.
"This is Attorney Cole." She answered once she'd pressed the button.
"Cheryl, I have someone here to see you but they don't have an appointment," Nadine explained, "It's a Danielle Peazer; she wants to see you?"
"Jesus," Cheryl muttered as she rolled her eyes before continuing, "It's okay Nadine; just give her a visitor's pass and send her up."
She then pressed the button and hung up before running her hand through her hair and standing up. She went to the door and poked her head out, seeing Lily typing away on the computer as she was processing a few things for Cheryl.
"Lils, be on the lookout for Danielle Peazer; she wants to see me." She explained. Lily's head snapped up in shock, her eyes going wide.
"For fucking what?" she asked.
"Fuck knows," Cheryl sighed as she rolled her eyes, "Just send her in when she gets up here." She then went back into her office and sat at her desk, resting chin against her palm as she picked up her phone. She smiled at the background picture on her phone as it was a picture of Sophia, Austin, and Liam – the three of them were just pulling faces last night as they took pictures on Cheryl's phone while Cheryl had been in the shower.
And just as if they were connected in the mind, Liam's text popped up right on cue.
<<Liam: 2:45pm – Hey baby! I got Soph; and now we're going to get Austin from the daycare and then we're off home. Pizza good for you tonight? We were just gonna order in? xxxx>>
<<2:45pm – Hey you; I was just about to drop you a text lol pizza sounds great! I'm gonna try and get off around 3:30 to come home; unexpected meeting has popped up now -_- xxxx>>
<<Liam: 2:46pm – Oh god; is it bad? Xxxx>>
<<2:46pm – I'll tell you about it when I come home -_- love you baby! Xxxx>>
