[Maria's POV]
I've been secretly playing ukulele behind Peggy's back for two months now, and I finally learned the song that I want to sing to her. I sing to her all the time, she just never heard me sing with a ukulele.
"Hey Peggy!" I call from my spot on the couch.
"Yes Maria?" She walks in and the room lights up. She notices I'm holding something behind my back.
"Ready for a surprise?" I smile.
"What kind of surprise exactly," She says in a suggestive tone.
"Peggy it's broad daylight, maybe later," I laugh.
"Alright what's the surprise then?" She squeaks impatiently.
I pull the ukulele from behind my back and strum a single chord. She squeals.
"You play?" She asks, wide eyed.
"For a few months now, yes," I explain.
"Ok, I'll let you start," She sits down beside me and I position my hands for the first chord.
"You are my sunshine," I sing. Peggy squeaks and bounces in excitement.
"My only sunshine," She stops bouncing and practically melts into the couch.
"You make me happy, when skies are grey," Peggy quietly hums along, keeping a huge grin on her face.
"You'll never know dear, how much I love you," Peggy blushes and covers her pink face.
"So please don't take my sunshine away," I hold the last note a bit longer. Peggy claps and hugs me tightly. I hugs her back and she whispers in my ear.
"I love you too,"
