One afternoon Adjo and his younger brother Ako were playing jacks on the sand outside their house when one of their dads servants (he's a pharaoh) came out and called Adjo to come inside because his father wanted to talk to him. So Adjo walked inside and asked his father what he wanted to talk about. His father said nothing but indicated for the boy to step closer, so he slowly walked closer and closer until he was right in front of his father. Then his father leaned in and whispered something in his ear "Adjo someday I'm going to grow old and someone new is going to take my place as pharaoh and I have chosen that person." Adjo whispered "Who is it father?" His father looked around to see if anyone else was watching and whispered "Adjo I have chosen you to be the next pharaoh." And Adjo quietly screamed with joy and thanked his father. But before he left his father pulled him closer and whispered something else in his ear "Adjo remember not to tell anyone else because they will be jealous and then they could possibly kill you." Adjo gulped and said goodbye to father and slowly walked off in fear from what his father had said right before he left. As he was walking back to Ako he thought to himself 'Why would father pick me to be the next pharaoh? Everyone placed their bets it was going to be Sefu who became the next pharaoh.' When he got to Ako he asked what is was about and Adjo wondered what to say. Finally, he said to Ako "Father had called me to talk about how well I was doing in school and if I kept up with the good work I would be smarter than him when he was a young boy" Ako nodded his head and the two boys continued their game of jacks. As they were playing Adjo thought 'That was a good save.' and the two boys continued to play until it was supper time.
[So thank you for reading this really bad chapter, I wrote it a couple years ago and it's awesome that it has so many more reads with every time that I check it. So I can clearly tell that the story sucks because there's a lot of reads for the first chapter and then not as many for the next, but I would like to thank anyone who read this whole first chapter and will continue it.
