It was perfect, his next target would throw the Feds around a bit; the wife was an Animal Control officer and the husband was a big-time District Attorney; Bobby Donovan and his wife Janet Donovan.

Janet had good reflexes and was fast on her feet from chasing after dogs all day and Bobby worked out a lot so his strength was not to be underestimated. The Killer looked at his watch; he had an hour to prepare before Bobby arrived home. He took a quick look around to make sure there weren't any witnesses and then he made his way to the front door. Janet made it easy, she didn't lock the front door so he quietly turned the handle and opened the door just enough to let himself through. He closed the door behind him and stayed crouched on the floor. He placed his black gym bag on the floor then carefully snuck though the house to find Janet...

-------

Ben got a rude awakening when his pager went off; he fell off the chair and onto the floor. He soon realized that he'd fallen asleep at the kitchen table. Ben looked at the number listed on the pager; it was Hunt's number. He dialed the number into his cell phone and waited for Hunt to answer.

"What's up Nate?" asked Ben, still half asleep,

There was a long sigh from Hunt.

"There's been another murder; crime scene is still fresh so if you and the rest of the gang are in on this case I need you all to get down to the scene," explained Hunt,

"What's the address?" asked Ben,

As Hunt read out the address Ben's face turned to shock,
"Hunt, that's only a street away from my house," yelled Ben, "we're on our way."

When Ben and Wolf got to the address they were swarmed by the press; they pushed their way through and finally crossed the yellow tape and found Nate who was briefing Seeley, Jacobi and Bryan.

"Ok now that you're all here I can tell you the situation. It's a double homicide; victims are Bobby and Janet Donovan," began Hunt,

Ben interrupted,
"Wait, Bobby Donovan as in District Attorney Bobby Donovan?" asked Ben with shock.

Hunt nodded,

"Shit, the press is going to have us for lunch," grumbled Wolf.

"Neighbors heard nothing accept a dog barking which was what alerted them this morning. Bobby Donovan was found impaled on the front fence over there, through the right side of his stomach. The coroner says he bled out slowly. As for Janet she was hacked up and from the pooling on the wounds she was still alive when it happened," explained Nate as he pointed to the white sheets draped over Bobby and the pieces of Janet.

Ben's stomach dropped, he walked off to get some air. They all looked at Wolf,

"Don't ask," sighed Wolf with frustration.

Ben walked around for a bit down the side of the house; he stopped in his tracks when he saw blotches of blood on the ground. Ben listened a bit, he could hear whimpering. Ben followed the sound till he came to a patch of bushes, he knelt down and saw, hiding way back in the bush was an American Bulldog; pure white but was covered in blood. Ben held his hand out to the dog to convince it to come out. The dog lifted its lips and growled; it suddenly leapt out of the bushes, latched onto Ben's left forearm and knocked him on his ass.

"SHIT! Wolf; someone help!" yelled Ben,

It seemed that the louder he yelled the harder the dog bit down. Ben and the dog stared at one another, Ben realized something, it was fear; they both shared fear. Ben noticed the dog was hurt; there was a wound on its right hip. Wolf came down the side and saw the dog and Ben.
