After ensuring the note was placed securely under the bench, Tracie checked her watch and decided to return home. She folded the note from Mr Anonymous and kept it in her wallet. She walked her usual route as her thoughts run wild about Mr Anonymous.
Could he be a creeper?Could he be good looking?Could he be a nerd?Could he be a girl pretending to be a guy? Then that would make 'he' a 'she'.Could he be Santa? These were the questions that were turning and churning and burning inside of her brain.
She finally reached home in one piece although she stumbled at her doorstep due to the sound of the closing of a car doorShe entered her house, still giddy with happiness, and was greeted by a series of questions.
"Got a boy?" Todd asked as he ate ice cream straight from the tub with a spoon. Tracie just replied with a simple no but still in a cheerful way.
"A boy proposed to you?" This one was from Gramps and he earned himself an eye roll from her but still Tracie was smiling.
"An A* for a test?" Momma asked as she pulled out a freshly baked apple pie from the oven.
"No," Tracie answered as she was swooned by the fragrant smell of the apple pie. "I mean,YES,I did get an A* for the English test." And with that she received a slice of pie from Momma.
"Beep!Beep!" The sound of a truck -a moving truck to be exact, backing up into the driveway of the house next to the Jones. And everyone piled to the window to peek, well everyone except for Tracie who was savouring her pie.
"Seems like we have people moving in next door," Papa commented.
"Well they sure didn't look like aliens to me," Gramps retorted earning himself an eye roll from Papa and roar of laughter from the rest of the family.
"Luckily I baked extra pie so I would to ask any of my children to send it over to them and also invite them over for dinner on Saturday," Momma said as she scanned over her children.
"Assignment!" Derek said as he gestured to his laptop.
"Gaming appointment!" Todd said as he resumed his game.
"Football!" "Party!" The twins said at the same time. They looked at each other and said, "Football party!"
Tracie looked at her brothers as she shook her head. She volunteered to go and Momma was already packing the pie. "You'll get an extra slice," Momma whispered to Tracie. Tracie was all smiles when she put on her shoes and went next door.
She was amazed to see that no boxes were on the lawn. They must have hired skillful movers, she thought to herself. She went up to their doorstep and knocked.
The door was opened up by a guy. Who had green eyes, which Tracie could not resist.
"I'm Tracie from next door. My mom wanted me to give our new neighbour some pie to welcome them to our neighbourhood," Tracie said as she hand him the pie.
The guy smiled. "Alexander. Thanks for the pie."
"Who's at the door,Xander? Oh a guest.Why didn't you invite her in?" A woman,whom Tracie assumed was Alexander's mom.
"Oh I was just leaving. Before I leave,my mom invited your family over for dinner on Saturday. Would you do the honors of gracing my humble house with your presence,Mrs ...," Tracie said with a curtsy.
"I'm Michelle Collins. And I will be honoured to grace your house with my presence,Miss ...," Mrs Collins replied with a small laugh.
"Miss Jones at your service. And now I shall take my leave now. Have a nice night," And with that Tracie made her way make to her house.
"They are the Collins, they will come on Saturday, and I'm off to bed," Tracie said as she entered the house.
She made her way to her room as she was full from eating pie. The door opened and Tracie remembered that she had to clean her bathroom. Curse those boys and their pranks.
