A blinding white light shone from beyond Evangeline's closed eyelids. She furrowed her brows and shut her eyes tighter at the sudden annoyance. She brought her hand up to her eyes and slowly opened them letting them adjust to the light. She had no idea what the hell was going on, this ha never happened before. Eventually her eyes were completely open and she glanced around to find she was laying down in clearing. It was incredibly bright and vibrant the colors of the flowers and tree's seemed to jump out at her. She glanced up expecting to see blue skies and was instead met with Golden skies. She knew immediately where she was, she was back home, or at least where her home used to be. All of a sudden Evangeline began to remember this meadow as her favorite place to get away from everyone. What was she doing here? How did she get here? Once you fell you could not come back.

She stood up and glanced around, the light breeze making her hair wave. The breeze drifted through the feathers of her wings and she brought them around her to block the slight chill in the air. Evangeline began walking into the woods in the direction where her house was. It didn't take long to trek through the woods and make it to the town square. She was greeted with smiles and various kind greetings, She furrowed her brows in confusion and continued on.

She walking into her small cottage house with trepidation and looked around. Nothing had changed, Her mom came out from the kitchen and greeted her daughter with a smile and a hug.

"I was wondering when you would get back dear, You left us here for a while this time. I know you can't stay for dinner, but at least go see your father in his study. He's been meaning to have a chat with you" Evangeline's mother said in her soft voice and left her daughter with a kiss on the cheek.

Evangeline turned to the right and walked down the hallway to her father's study. She was still very confused but it had felt nice to feel her mother's arms around her again. She knocked on the door and gently opened it to see her father sitting at his desk with his head in his hands. He perked up when he heard her enter and rushed behind her to close the door.

"What the he..."

"Shh! no time to explain, if the council knew you found your way back they would come after you," Her father led her over to his desk and sat her down, "we don't have a lot of time but I knew you would end up here eventually I have to warn you."

"Warn me of what, how am I even here?!? This has to be a dream."

"It is a dream, you're a dream walker my dear. We always meant to tell you about your gift but sometimes they fade over time and not all angels are gifted." Her father's voice was rushed and slightly on edge.

"So what I'm like astral travelling?"

"Precisely. A little while ago we had one of the seer angels stop by, they were an old friend of your mothers. Although we aren't allowed to interfere with the fallen they had a vision of you and decided to tell me and your mother. There is a lot of darkness in the near future for you, you have to be careful who you become friends with."

"what are you even talking about, darkness?...I don't understand"

"I'm sorry my dear but you have to be going, if you're here any longer they'll find out. Just know you're more gifted than you know." Her father wrapped his arms around her hugging her tight.

"Will I be able to come back?" she asked her eyes tearing up

"I'm afraid that you shouldn't my dear. It's not safe, I love you" Her father gently grabbed her face and he met her eyes with tears as well.
