Evangeline sat on her bed in silence for hours, just until the setting sun caused slants of light to cross her face. She blinked quickly as the light hit her eyes causing them to water. Realizing she had been staring into space instead of doing her homework she pushed it away with a sigh. She regretted what she had said; that was a fact. Adrian had been too distant for Evangeline to confess her regrets. How could she even bring it up without causing discomfort, 'Hey friend sorry I made it sound like being gay was a bad thing and that you were stupid because of it' Evangeline violently shook her head at the thought of saying that. She had to think of something, they were roommates after all; plus Adrian was Evangeline's only friend. She didn't want to lose the only real friendship she had ever had. She had lived alone for far too long and now that she had a taste of companionship she couldn't just let go.

She picked up a novel from her desk and settled in for a long wait. She knew Adrian wouldn't be coming back anytime soon and she wanted to try her hardest to stay awake until her roommate got back. So far she had been unsuccessful; always falling asleep just a little too soon. This time she was determined, no matter how tired she was Evangeline was going to stay awake. Even if that meant slapping herself to keep her eyes open.

Evangeline made a pretty big dent in the book she was reading; in fact she had almost finished it. She took a deep breath and grabbed a notebook off her desk and ripped out a piece of paper to use as a bookmark. After closing the book she set it down on her desk and leaned back onto the pillows on her bed.

Reaching her arm out she grabbed her Ipod off her desk to check the time only to see that it was nearing one in the morning. She let a yawn slip past her lips and threw a tired look at the door. She let her shoulders deflate in realization that yet again she wouldn't be able to stay up late enough to catch Adrian. Evangeline gathered her half finished homework and tossed it onto her desk. She nestled under her comforter and let out another yawn as her eyes shut.

Adrian burst through the door with such a velocity it hit the wall and bounced back into her. She cringed at the loud noise and quickly moved into the room and shut the door behind her. Adrian glanced over at a bewildered Evangeline who was now sat upright in bed.

"I'msorryIsaidthattoyoupleaseforgiveme!" Evangeline let the words tumble out of her mouth so fast she almost couldn't understand what she had said.

Adrian let a small smile grace her lips, She turned her gaze to the floor.

"You're not the only one at fault. I didn't say the things I did to try and dictate your life, That guy gave me bad vibes but I shouldn't have tried to make decisions for you. I forgive you and I ask only for your forgiveness in return" Adrian's melodic voice was quiet, it fit with the atmosphere of the night.

"Of course I forgive you, the things that I said were exponentially worse than what you said, plus you were only worried about me. I was just being a total bitch." Evangeline had climbed down from her bed and walked to stand in front of her roommate.

Adrian saw the feet of her roommate before her and gazed up to meet Evangeline's gaze. Not for the first time Adrian was struck by the other girls fair skin and innocent eyes. She truly was a beautiful person. Evangeline smiled at Adrian and held out her hand in a particularly cliche display.

"Friends?"

Adrian chuckled at the display and grabbed Evangeline's hand only to pull the girl in for a hug,

"Friends" Adrian whispered back.

The girls stepped apart and smiled at one another.

"Well I'm glad we've resolved this because I thought it might be a good idea to invite Jeremy over and we can hang out and be friends and such." Adrian chose her words carefully not wanting to seem suspicious.

Evangeline smiled widely at Adrian,

"I think that's a great idea, that way you can see that he's a pretty alright guy and you know what if he's not at least you'll be there to kick his ass" Evangeline laughed

Adrien chuckled and smiled to herself as she made her way over to her side of the room.

"Well we can figure out a date tomorrow I'm sure you're tired" Adrian spoke softly

"Yea I am actually," Evangeline laughed quietly then furrowed her brow in question "Are you not tired?"

"Oh...yea I am it's just I figured you were waiting up for me while I've been up for a while doing stuff so I guess I just assumed you would be more tired than I was" Adrian stumbled over her words a bit, usually she had explanation and excuses prepared for these types of questions but it hadn't been on her mind so she was a tad unprepared to give a refined answer.

Evangeline nodded in understanding and fully took in Adrians appearance. This girl was flawless not a dark circle visible under her eyes. Evangeline wondered if she wore a lot of makeup although she had never seen Adrian put any on. She knew Adrian stayed up late at night and still managed to wake up around ten or eleven every morning. How did this girl not have dark circles under her eyes. Evangeline closed her eyes and ran her hand down her face fully feeling her exhaustion; she was looking too much into this. She said goodnight to Adrian and they both climbed into bed for the night.

Evangeline wasn't able to stay up for very long but she knew it must be nearing three in the morning. Over her shoulder she could still see the glow of the other girls phone as Evangeline herself slipped into darkness.

Adrian waited until she could hear the other girls breath even out so she knew Evangeline was truly asleep. She silently slipped out of bed and back out of the dorm room and into the hallway. After her phone call with Diedra she had spent hours working up the courage to go and talk to Evangeline. Even after 113 years Adrian still wasn't too fond of confrontation. Either way too Adrian the night was young and there was still things on her to do list. She had to feed and more importantly she had to meet up with Diedra and retrieve the spell she had begged for. Gods did she hope she was right about Jeremy or else she was going to look a fool.
