Chapter-4

What actually happened in the woods

Zander's POV

I was heading towards where everybody had gathered when Joseph came out of nowhere." I know what you're planning on, little cousin " he said immediately. I knew what he was talking about but then I played dumb. "What?" I asked. "You're planning to make Ellie fall for your charms to make me jealous. You want revenge? Do it. But please don't include Ellie in this. I know you don't love her" he said with a serious face. "You don't have to worry about Ellie. She'll be fine with me" I said calmly even though I was burning with rage. He had no right to talk to me like that. He betrayed me. He took my one and only love away from me. "Zander, just give up. I thought you would take a revenge sooner or later but this is too much. Don't drag Ellie into this" he pleaded. I couldn't take it anymore. "You destroyed my love life. You took her away from me. As a kid, I always loved you as my brother. I thought of you as a good friend. But all this time you were jealous of me. Jealous that I was better than you. Jealous that I was more capable of handling our dad's business than you. You showed me your jealousy in a funny way. You took Sarah away from me. You changed my personality. I don't think I can ever forgive you. I can't live peacefully without a revenge" I said angrily.

"I was never jealous of you. You......."he said as he stepped dangerously towards me with his fist clenched. "I've disliked you enough, my brother. Touch me and I'll start hating you. My thirst for revenge will be even more if you even touch me" I said calmly. He stepped back and sat on the ground frustratedly. I waited for him to calm down. "Joseph, shall we go back? The girls are waiting for us" I said coldly. After all the things he did for me, he was still my cousin and no matter what I said, I still love him very much. "Let's not go there with an angry face. They will notice that we had some arguments " I said politely. "Don't tell me what to do " he said coldly.

The girls were having so much fun, especially Meredith. She was singing and laughing loudly even in silly jokes. I had never seen this side of her. I had only experienced her coldness and hatred. Later on, Joseph was dropping Becca and Meredith to their homes. But I insisted on dropping Ellie to her mansion and she agreed at once making Joseph's face red with jealousy.

A/N- I know it's a really short chapter but I wrote it just to inform you all about what really happened that created a tensed atmosphere between Zander and Joseph. Both Zander and Meredith have dark secrets of their own.
