Zell POV
When I met L during my midyear in junior high at Crystal Zoom Academy, I already know that she was a very competitive person who takes everything seriously. She's really hard to deal with and I hate dealing with this kind of attitude. As for me, I take everything as a game but others misinterpret that attitude of mine. Instead of them playing with me, they take seriously in every action I make.
After that training exercise which turned out to be a swimming competition, I get myself dressed and prepared for my today's agenda. Someone close to me called last night and asked if we can see each other. Immediately without hesitation, I agreed. When L found out I'll be seeing someone today she insisted to drive me wherever it is. Yet, 30 minutes had past pero hindi pa rin siya bumababa sa hagdan. So, I decided. I went up to her room knock the door non-stop with a very loud tug.
"What is it, Zell? Can't you wait?" I recognize irritation in her voice and imagining her rolling her eyes, shrugging her hands in frustration as she opens her door to me and then it made sense. Nangyari nga ang nasa imahinasyon ko.
"What can you expect from me? I'm hella waiting for you downstairs for almost 30 minutes from now yet I can't still hear your footsteps so here I am. Give me your car keys." I demanded. "I don't need you to be my driver because you are delaying my appointment. You know I hate waiting. I have a very short patience when it comes to that. Car keys, please?"
"You're an adamant, Zell. However, I think you forgot something really important or do you want me to tell you the truth. YOU CAN'T DRIVE ZELL. YOU CAN'T DRIVE! YOU ARE PROHIBITED TO DRIVE BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!" She slaps those words right in front of my face by emphasizing word from words.
I shrug my shoulder off. "Really L, try me?" panghahamon ko sa kanya.
"Remember the last time YOU TRIED to drive you almost got hit the children playing in the park. And do take note you are only driving a bicycle that time. What more if I give you my keys and drive my car? What do you think will happen to you?"
"Okay, I give up. I don't know how to drive because you don't want me to learn how to do it!"
"Bull crap! Are we going to argue about that or are we going to leave now? That's a plain order Zell! You must understand!" Did I piss her off? Because she slammed the door when she leaves? Or did I make a point? Luckily, her parents were outside the house and never did they hear any single word of our argument.
Our ride was so damn quiet and it suffocates me.
"Were here," she said without looking at me when we arrive at Turks.
I muttered thank you. As soon as I get off on her car she starts the engine and drove away. What the hell did I do?
Nonetheless, I shake my head off to lose all my thoughts that running inside of my brain and entered in the fast-food chain. I scan the area and a woman with her very beautiful smile caught my attention when she waved at me. She was at the center table.
"Oh, how are you Zell? It's been a long time! I almost did not recognize you. Look at you---" scanning me from head to toe. "You'd grown up on a gorgeous lady, kiddo. Come on, give your big sister a hug?" she spread her hands with a very wide smile on her face and I willingly accepted that big hug because I really miss her so much.
"As always big sis, I am fine and feeling great all the time!" I said with assurance. "How about you, big sis? I heard you're still tailing that man. When will you get tired?" I rolled my eyes to show her how pathetic her actions.
"As I expected from you Zell you've never changed you're still straight to the point. I miss you so much. Are we here to talk about my love life or there's still something else you want to talk about?" she's asking me a question without any point at all.
