Finn
He told the cab driver to drop him off right in the center of New York, the perfect place to find a job. He knew damn well that finding a job with his record was going to be hard, but he was determined.
His first week free was very, very hard on him. He slept on the streets and begged for food and spare change from strangers, but being in New York, he had no luck.
One night he slept in front of a small shop, curling up under the bench outside of the shop, trying to protect himself from the rain. A few hours had past and by now it was pouring, Finn couldn't see anything but the dark black pavement of the street and hear the splashing of the quickly falling drops. But then, he heard a bell ring, and a door open. Someone from inside the small store he was sleeping outside of had come outside.
'Oh no'
Finn thought
'They're beat the shit out of me for sleeping out here, or even worse, call call the cops on me and send me back to prison'
However, that's not how things went.
The man, who actually looked to be in his late 30s, shouted at him to get inside, as it was hard to hear him over the pouring rain.
Rushing inside, Finn leaned against a counter catching his breath, as the unfamiliar man looked him up and down, taking in his horrid state. Dropping eye bags, red, tired eyes, skinny frame and untamed hair.
Without saying a word, the man went into the kitchen and started to cook up a burger for the unknown boy whom he just let in. Taking it out to him he referenced that he sit down at a table with him, nodding Finn sat across from the man who pushed the basket with a burger and some fries in it over to him, Finn didn't think twice before digging in.
"Woah, slow down there boy. Your parents ever fed ya?"
Hearing that made Finn loose his appetite almost immediately, the man quickly took notice of his new, saddened state.
"Oh uh, well, it's pretty late. I've got a spare room in the back, you should get some sleep"
Finn nodded and followed the man to the spare room, right before close the door her said:
"Oh right, the name's Benny, Benny Hammond"
And with that, he waved Finn goodnight.
He couldn't wait to stop being a criminal.

Millie
She had the driver drop her off in the heart of Chicago, a place where she knew it'd be easy to pick up some cash. Her first stop was to find a new outfit, nothing too fancy, just something new.
Sneaking behind a thrift shop, she took a plastic garbage bag from the bin labeled 'donations' and hoped for the best.
Sneaking away she found an abandoned alleyways with no homeless people inhabiting it. Sitting against a wall she opened up the bag, full of an assortment of clothes and even antiques.
"Jackpot!"
She shouted, the bag was full of fairly new clothes that relatively fit her style, and she also found some old watches and some jewelry that she could pawn off for some cash.
Changing into a new set of clothes, Millie left the alleyway and searched for a pawn shop. Upon finding one she entered with jewelry and watches filling her pockets. Walking up to a worker she pulled out the valuables as said:
"How much is all of this worth?"
The worker inspected the jewelry and the watches, analyzing how much they could be worth.
"5,000 at the most"
She stayed simply, making Millie's jaw drop, to her that amount of money was unheard of.
"I'll take it!"
She said without thinking twice, even though if she had tried she could've gotten $7,000.
After the cash was dealed out to her, she asked one more question.
"What's the best place to use all of this, and make more of it?"
Pondering for a second, the worker said:
"New York"
And with that, Millie was off. Finding the nearest train station she bought tickets for the next train to New York, which sadly was in two days. After buying her ticket she solemnly found a place to sleep for the next couple of days and went to sleep, with a New York State of mind.
2 days later
Getting on the train she was asked for her ticket, punching a hole in it the ticketer gave her ticket back and walked on. The ride was going to be nearly 19 hours, so millie made herself comfy.
For most of the ride Millie was either sleeping or eating, until she was woken up by a friendly face telling her that she had arrived. Grabbing her things she got off of the train and left the train station.
Looking all around she was absolutely astonished, New York was beautiful and she was just taking it all in. She knew what she had to do first, made a to do list.
Find a place to sleep
Make more money
Obtain a weapon
Millie felt like she was forgetting something, but she just couldn't figure out what. Shrugging it off she walked all around New York, going in and out of different stores, despite the dirty looks she was getting.
Night soon fell upon her and she found a place to sleep. It was an abandoned little shop, going inside she pulled out the blanket and pillow that she had found at the train station and went to sleep.
She couldn't wait to start being a criminal again.
