'DIFFERENT PATHS'About a week has passed since Millie and Finn have been freed, and they've been taking their own paths.
Today Finn was finally able to buy an apartment of his own and Benny gave him a job working at his restaurant so he could play the rent. He also got a job working weekend shifts at a convenience store, needless to say, Finn is doing everything in his power to get his life back together.
Millie had finally gotten a weapon, a gun. The only downside was that she would have to buy more ammo. But even if the gun was near empty she could still scare people into giving her money, food, etc. and that's exactly what she did.
For Finn it felt wonderful to be leading a normal life, having a job, owning an apartment.
And for Millie it felt beautifully exhilarating to be committing crimes again, living life to what she felt was the fullest.
—
Time was flying by fast, it had now been a month since the two have been freed from prison. And they were slowly dissipating from each other's minds.
Now don't get me wrong, they still thought about one another a lot and planned to find the other.
But different people take different paths.
Finns life was completely back in track at this point, he was working two jobs, had his rent paid in full for the next 3 months and was providing for himself.
Millie was on the run again from the cops, mugging people, streaking drugs and sleeping around in illegal places she was back to her life of crime, and she loved it.
Finn still desperately wanted, no, needed t find Millie. But he was so involved with his new and improved life he barely had any time to even try to find out where she could be, and that killed him. He couldn't wait to find her.
Millie also needed Finn, she needed to find him so she could have a partner in crime, someone to do all of the bad things she loved to do with her. She couldn't wait to find him.
Finn was all settled into his house, getting mail regularly and paying his bills like a successful adult. He was so content with his life, he wondered why he ever resorted to crime in the first place.
Millie was jumping from place to place, town to town, trying not to get arrested. Demanding money and stealing drugs gave her this rush of adrenaline that she just loved. She wondered why she didn't take up crime earlier.
—
Both of them deciding they had to do something as an effort to try and find the other went in their ways.
Finn asked any and everyone he knew for any information, but they were all clueless. Going to a nearby police station he begged for her records.
Millie had many connections, ones that she knew would have to know something about Finn.
And both of them were shocked to find that they were in the same city
—
From then on it was a wild goose chase for he other, they both traveled all across the city, sometimes even passing right by each other and not even realizing it.
3 months went by of this, becoming so close yet feeling so far. They never truly gave in on finding the other, but they definitely lost their motivation.
By now they had been separated for 5 and 1/2 years, and finding one another seemed hopeless. As much as they still loved each other, you'd have to understand that they felt like giving up.
Just imagine, being separated from you true love, and spending months trying to find them knowing they're in the exact same city as you only for nothing good to prevail.
They truly wanted to give up.
But they both made a promise, they no matter the circumstances they would find each other again. But would the other really know if they stopped trying?
Finn loved Millie, he still does. But he needed to get back to his normal life.
And millie couldn't live without Finn, but she needed to continue her way of life, the life of crime.
