'I CAN'T SAY GOODBYE TO ANOTHER GIRL I LOVE'

After a heartfelt goodbye that night, or more so morning since it was almost 4:00am Finn and Mathilda left and went back to the apartment. Finn promised Millie that him and Mathilda would be visiting her every day.

But the place they called home soon turned to hell when they arrived, no matter what Mathilda did it would piss Finn off. After hours of being yelled at Mathilda just locked herself in her room, already missing Millie so much. She started to write a mental letter to Millie in her head as she laid down in her bed crying.

Dear Mom,

God it hasn't even been 12 hours without you and this house has turned into a living hell, and I miss you more than words can express.

I don't know what's wrong with Finn, but no matter what I do, he gets mad at me for it. Maybe it's because he's not used to being without you again? Either way, I'm too scared to even come out of my room now. I can't wait to see you tomor–

"Mathilda! I'm going down to Benny's, don't fuck up anything while you're here."

And with that, he slammed the door

What if I wasn't here?

She thought to herself cleverly, pulling out the piece of paper that she had copied Joey's phone number onto she ran into the kitchen with a skip in her step. She quickly dialed his numbers, making sure she was entering the correct digits. Oh. My. God. Mathilda thought to herself as the phone started to ring, this is my first time calling him! What if I'm bothering him? What if he doesn't want me to call? What if he's lost interest in me? Wait, does he even have any interest in me? Oh no, what if this is some kind of sick prank? What if—

"Johnson's residence, how may I help you?"

Fuck, did she call the wrong number?

"Um, I'm looking for Joey?"

She spoke hesitantly, what if she was talking to one of his parents? He didn't seem to have a good relationship with them. Mathilda had never been so anxious in her life and she couldn't figure out why.

"Joey? Hmm let me see if there's a Joey around"

The voice changed a bit, almost as if someone was faking an accent now, the long pause while she waited for whoever the hell she was talking to to get back only made her one thousand times more anxious.

"Well, there's only one Joey around this house, and you're talking to him"

Joey said proudly holding back a laugh

"Oh my gosh! You gave me a heart attack! Why didn't you just tell me it was you?"

Mathilda said, obviously exasperated.

"I've got people that call for work you know? And I just really wanted to screw with you"

He said with a snicker

"You bastard!"

She said, immediately covering her mouth after the fact

"Shit that's not what I meant to say, you're not a bastard. You're a really amazing person actually and I–"

"It's okay, love"

Joey said cutting Mathilda off from her anxious rant, then turning her into a blushing mess. Thank god he can't see how red my face is right now Mathilda thought to herself, thankful for old phones that attach to the walls for once.

"So, why'd you call? I mean, beside to talk to me"

God, she could practically hear him winking through the phone
