The leaders of Kanto, Hoenn, Johto, and Sinnoh sat together at the round table, deciding the fate of their enemies.

"It has to be done." Kanto's leader sounded regretful, like at the very least he recognized the opposite side of this war as human beings.

"Then why haven't we done it yet?" Sinnoh's leader was far less forgiving, spitting the words out with disgust.

"Because." Hoenn's leader sounded like he was explaining something to a particularly slow child. "It's not just soldiers we'll be killing. They'll be children. Pokèmon. Babies. Innocent ones."

Sinnoh's leader gave a scoff. "No one is innocent in a war."

"The sooner we do it, the quicker the war is over. The quicker the war is over, the less people will die." Johto's leader, who thus far had been silent, looked around at the people around him. "Do it now, before Unova, Alola, or Kalos decide to strike first. Or worse, before they make the same decision as us at the same time as us. Strike before we destroy each other. It is the only way."

The other three, even Sinnoh's leader, bowed their heads in respect to the wiser man. His words were true.

It was the only way.

One had a heavy heart as he relayed the orders. One merely felt that he was doing what was best. One felt victorious. The last felt only heartache, for this race that was determined to rip itself apart.

But all four sent the bombs. All four nuked their enemy's land until there was nothing left to nuke.
