Elizabeth

We sat there, not paying attention to the time as it passed. My thoughts were haunting me, while Cameron was enveloped in his own mind. There were moments when he would glance down at me with an unreadable expression, sending worry throughout my system.

It was as if he was trying to figure out a difficult problem and only coming up with irrelevant solutions. Marie was unsteady for some unknown reason, she kept whining and letting out hurt growls. Whenever I tried asking her about it, she simply went silent, as if her silence was my protection. I started releasing myself from my mate's grip, making him growl in complaint and attempt to hold me closer.

"What do you think you are doing?" He roughly whispered into my ear, tightening his arms around me. His possessiveness was thick in the air making my mind momentarily take a turn to the dark side.

"The bell is going to ring soon and I have to go home." I said, suppressing a shiver from his deep breathing on my collarbone. I had to struggle to get my mind out of the gutter.

"Don't leave.." He pouted out his lip as if he were three years old, making me giggle at his childish action. It was honestly extremely adorable.

"I have to." I deadpanned in the gentlest way possible with a smirk. We hadn't even shared our first kiss and yet we were so connected. Marie whimpered again, the noise created an unsettling emotion in my stomach.

"Why? I could get you transferred into my pack tonight instead of you leaving." He suggested, hope and something else unknown shining bright in his eyes. I pondered it for a moment, considering my options, which admittedly there wasn't many.

Cameron

I made hope glimmer in my eyes, trying to hide the lust from the thoughts of that certain red head. Elizabeth simply shook her head and kissed the top of my head before leaving. I couldn't help but feel slightly guilty as I got up and walked out several minutes after the bell had rang. Thankfully, no one was there to witness the alpha being in a janitor's closet, that would only raise unwanted questions. I roamed the halls, not making any movements towards my next class.

You better not hurt her. Lucas growled, anger intertwined within his powerful voice.

I know but I can't help this. It's like a tug to do the wrong thing. I answered mentally. Lucas growled and blocked me out, both of us knowing that my intentions were wrong. I just couldn't seem to ignore them.

"Alpha, where is the Luna?" Damien rushed out as soon as I stepped through the doorway. I growled possessively, why did he want to know where my mate was? He must have noticed his mistake because his features turned to one of fright. I rolled my eyes in annoyance.

"I haven't seen her since this morning at school. Why?" I huffed rather childishly, not enjoying the fact that I was being questioned by a simple Omega who normally had no authority to speak to me.

"Word got out that you rejected her, through someone else. With all respect Alpha, how could you reject your mate? How could you reject your mate through someone else? Did you not realize that it would hurt her more if you didn't do it to her face?" He stated, looking fearful yet angry.

I let his words sink in a moment before fully realizing what he had said. Rejection? Why did he think there had been a rejection? She is upset, Lucas whined. Shock and anger ran thick in my veins.

"Why would I do that!" I shouted at him, full Alpha mode. "Rejection isn't even a thought that crossed my mind! Who did you hear this from" Damien nearly fell backwards from the power within my voice.

"Samantha." He whispered, shaking in fear. He appeared to be on the verge of passing out but I was too angry and hurt to care. A surge of pain ran through my arm. She's hurting. We have to fix this. Lucas howled in pain. It was painful to hear him so beat up, normally he held power, not weakness.

"Who is Samantha?" I asked, trying to control the shift that was trying to break through my human side.

"She's new," He paused, "She's the only one with red hair in this pack?" He spoke quietly, as if not to set me off.

New?

Red hair?
The one I wanted. The one I lusted, she caused my mate pain?

I was so confused, so conflicted. An alpha should never feel like that, it was the hidden code. I kept a straight face, refusing to weakness or confusion, just as an alpha should.

I could feel her pain. She was hurting because of me and I hadn't even done anything yet. Another aching pain throbbed in my arm.

I had to find my mate.
