A/N: So I was very excited for this request. Have I watched this show? No, just the half of the pilot because the wifi sucks where I am but it has Melissa Benoist so it gets a pass. I forgot who requested this but I hope you enjoy it anyway.
Warnings: Very triggering, mention of family death and domestic abuse and language. Be prepared I cried while writing this. ;-;
~~~KARA'S POV~~~
I never liked to pry into people's lives unless I needed to but clearly this was an emergency. "Hey Winn, does Y/n seem different to you?" I asked my associate Winn and he looked surprised to see me so suddenly. "Hello to you too, Kara," he said sarcastically; I rolled my eyes, "answer the question!"
"Uh, well she has been looking a little more tired than usual...She hasn't been eating like she used to, mostly just shoves her food around, and it's weird that she stopped talking back to Cat. That was a shocker really," Winn said looking over shoulder to see Y/n slumped over her desk while doing her work. "You should talk to her, Kara...You," he paused to point to me, "can understand what goes through her head."
I slapped his arm and looked over at the h/c haired girl. "Fine," I walked over to her desk as butterflies started to rise in my stomach because of the ever growing attraction I had for Y/n. "Hey hot shot," I said to her as I sat on her desk. "Hey pot stickers," she smiled tiredly at me. "What's going on Y/n? You seem tired..." I trailed off giving her time to think about what she was going to say.
"Uh yeah, just a little tired, Cat's been giving me piles of work lately..." She looked up at me and giggled sweetly ay my 'oh really' face. "I'm fine really! Now I have to go, I'm going on an errand." Y/n said getting up from her desk. "Does Cat know about this hot shot?" She smiled at the nickname and she smirked. "Maybe, maybe not..." The h/c ran to the elevator sending me a wink and a salute.
"Now that was even weirder..." Win said looking over his shoulder. I nodded, "I know right?" I ran to Cat's office. "Uh, miss Grant...?" The woman didn't look up from her work. "Do you know that Y/n L/n left early today?" I asked; she finally looked up. "Yes Keera, she said it was a personal issue and I gave her a chance." She said looking back down at her work. "Okay, thank you miss Grant." I walked out of the office, only reaching the door frame before turning back to her. "Do you mind if-?" She cut me off "If I let you follow Miss L/n? Go ahead, as long as I get to sit in front for your wedding." Cat said with the tiniest of smiles.
"Why do you support me so much?" I asked shocked with the amount of kindness Cat was showing. "It's not necessarily about you Keera, I mean..." She paused taking in a deep sigh. "Kara... Y/n's less of an employee and more of a daughter, and I can tell that she cares about you; and whatever makes that child happy, is alright by me, even if that source of happiness wears those pants," The blonde woman shuddered. "Go for her, Kara." For the first time ever, she gave me a genuine smile. "Thank you Miss Grant!" She shushed me and pointed to the door.
~~~Y/N'S POV~~~
I sat on the grass by the headstone of my recently late mother; the only support I had left. "Hey mom, I know it's been a little while since I last visited..." I sniffled, and smiled sadly. "It's just been so much more difficult without you...Dad's been getting a tad bit more aggressive and I just don't know how much more of it I can take." I sobbed whilst putting my forehead on the cold stone.
"I miss you, mommy." I whispered through the sobs.
~~~KARA'S POV~~~
I finally caught up to where Y/n was. I found her in a cemetery crying her eyes out. I wanted to hug her, I wanted to hold her and tell her everything was alright. "I miss you, mommy..." she muttered and at that instant my heart broke. Y/n got up and kissed the headstone and walked away. I waited for her to leave before walking to where the h/c once sat.
