KAITE'S POINT OF VIEW

My hands shook as I held Sander's head, his eyes fluttering. I don't know what happened, how I was able to stand up on my feet after being shot in the stomach, speaking of which, pain crept up my side, but at the moment I didn't care. All I cared about was getting to Sander, protecting him since he's already done so much for me. I didn't care if I died, I just wanted him to live, I needed him to.

His steely eyes fluttered open, exhaustion ringing them, and a sleepy smile crept on his lips as he shut his eyelids again. I sighed in relief, leaning down and touching my forehead to his, tears pricking the corners of my eyes.

"Milady!" A male voice shouted down the hallway, the sound of clanging metal ringing in the hallway. I couldn't tell who it was, too scared to even look up, too tired to process anything. The talking in the background between Sarah and the boy was just white noise as I shook, holding on to Sander. I forgot people were there until I felt a hand on my back, sudden pain shooting through my side. "Madame? We must move if you wish for him and yourself to live."

I finally looked up at the boy who was speaking, taking in his looks entirely. He wore armor, like the older kind- a metal tunic, boot covers, metals pants I guess you can call them. There was even a piece of metal shoulder plating holding a blue cape or whatever it was hanging there. He had black hair, that hung in front of his sapphire blue eyes. He was pale like crème, and he voice was low like a bass drum. His pointed features were almost pixie like.

I reached for his outstretched hand, but cringed back as a sharp pain in my side made me gasp. It was then, the boy pulled me up into a cradling kind of hold, being cautious as not to cause anymore harm to me.

"What about-" I said weakly, the confidence and strength I had before, disappearing.

"We shall get to him my dear," The boy said gently, turning as another boy, seeming from the same area as him, just a bit more dinged up. "Elvy, get master Sander, and be careful. He has preformed a Merge, meaning his body has been tested to it's very limit, one wrong move and he will be killed!" The other boy saluted, the metal armor rustling.

"Yes sir Lord Kheelan!" He picked Sander up, being careful as to not jostle him and all of us were hurried down corridors after corridors. This place was a real maze, meant to stop anyone from entering or exiting. At one point, Kheelan bounced me a little as he hopped over a hole in the ground that was created by what seems to be a recent, major impact. I whimpered softly, clenching my eyes and jaw shut.

"I'm sorry Milady," He repeated, jogging along. We finally reached a back entrance where there were no guards, only splatters of blood and a body of a child or what seemed to be a child half serpent thing. My eyelids were growing heavier, as more blood escaped the bullet wound in my side. "Milady, open your eyes. Don't shut them, speak to me dear child. What is your name?"

"Katie," I mumbled into his neck, my voice sounding as if it came through a thick wrapping of gauze. "What's yours?" I knew his name the second I said it, remembering the funny feeling as it was spoken.

"Lord Kheelan, Madame Katie. Leader of the Fairy Legion, at your service," He glanced down at me, smiling a little bit before looking back up, the playful smirk gone, fading into a serious glint. "Sarah, open the door!" He called as we hurried into the open air. The sun was up, shinning so bright that buried my face in Kheelan's armored plated shoulder. I faded into a black world, so cold I was shaking mentally, but not physically.

I awoke sheer silence apart from a soft beeping sound. The beep was the first thing I heard as I came back down to Earth from my coma like state, surprising me. I was expecting the dull echo of the cavern-like tournament chamber, the echoing screams of agony that rang out as more people died every day.
