"But you seemed pretty normal all these days. Shouldn't you be worse affected right now? You know, considering the situation we are in?"

"I guess the situation I am in is the reason why I seem normal. I guess not having a nervous system helps." Aditya let out a humorless laughter.

"So you didn't attack that man on purpose?"

"Ofcourse not!" It was still a sensitive subject for Aditya. He couldn't possibly imagine hurting someone like that. To top it off, the media made it seem like he did it to the man on purpose because he deemed him beneath himself.

Trisha seemed to ease up a little. "You know you're not all that bad. I couldn't imagine you getting violent for no apparent reason anyway.... You're pretty mellow." There was a long awkward pause and then Aditya let out a chuckle. "This is all so strange I still feel like I'm in a movie."

Trisha found this pretty amusing too. Then she remembered what happened with Sarah and thought, 'I should probably apologize to her.'

'It's alright ya know.' she heard Sarah think. Now the issue at hand was Sharan. He knew half of the situation and there was no way in hell he was gonna let it go. They had no option but to involve him now.

"What do you plan on doing about Sharan?" As if on cue Sarah walked in with her phone pressed to her ear. She looked at Trisha and put the phone on speaker.

"We could meet on Monday half an hour before school. We can answer all your questions then." Sarah told Sharan. Trisha stared at Sarah mouth agape but then realized this was the only option now. Sharan was not someone who would let something like this go. Trisha had known known his obsession with the mystery genre and this was his opportunity to live it. One thing was clear though, it was not gonna be easy to explain the entire situation without seeming totally psycho.

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that. It's just that because of my stupidity you got hurt. I should never have involved Varun in this. It just didn't seem like the smartest decision to involve yet another person in this mess."

Sarah knew the apology was heartfelt. The girls were too tight anyway to fight over such a trivial matter. "I know I should've consulted with you first but I cracked under the pressure. I had to tell someone." And just like that all the awkwardness was gone.

"He's here." Sarah pointed out as Sharan walked into the library on Monday. They were sitting in the farthest corner a pile of books spread in front of them. He spotted them and slid into the chair in front of them. Curiosity had been killing him the past two days. He had gathered the bits and pieces of info he caught over the past few days, but the theories he could come up with were too bizarre to be plausible. But he knew this for sure, that the séance, their eyes, the cold aura they carry, the sudden disappearance of Aditya Kapoor right after the failed séance, their frequent library trips and lastly Varun; the explanation that would be thrown at him was gonna be far from normal.
