Katniss' POV-
I could hear Peeta calling after me, but I didn't want to talk to, or even, see him right now.
What he said really hurt and, if he loved me, then he never would have said that in the first place; he would have just kept the opinion to himself.
I just needed to spend time away from him and to have a night without him telling me what to do or him being so over-concerned about me that there is no space for me to breath.
Don't get me wrong, I love Peeta more than anything, but at times he just makes me want to turn around and punch him for being slightly too much for me to handle.
"Katniss. Please. Just wait." Peeta shouted once again.
"Leave me alone Peeta. I'm going to Johanna's." I snapped at him.
"She's not going to be there. Marvel wants us all back in the Sqaure, he's got some things which he wants to say." he replied breathlessly, and I could tell that he was getting tired now and he just wanted to stop all this sill running; but I didn't want to slow down and I didn't want to stop running.
"Why should I believe you?" I replied.
"Katniss. I'm sorry. I don't know what more you want me to say. I love you, and I'm sorry." he sighed.
The sound of footsteps chasing after me stopped and there was nothing but a cold silence surrounding me now.
I countinued to silently cry to myself as I also forced myself to a stop just feet in front of Peeta.
His words taking a moment before the really hit home and made a difference to him insulting my family.
I know my mum might not be the best of people, and she may even become too over-protective at times, but she only does the best for me.
"Look, if you decide you're going to listen to me, then you know where I am." Peeta sighed after what seemed like an eternity of silence and then I heard him walking away from me; he was actually listening to what I wanted him to do and he had finished arguing with me.
I was all on my own, and there was no one I could blame other than myself for that one.
Johanna's POV-
"What are we all doing here Marvel?" I spoke angrily because I was actually looking forward to spending some time with Katniss, without having people interrupt all the time.
Now we had all been told we were to meet in the Sqaure of District Twelve.
Something about Marvel wanting to tell us all something seriously important, but I didn't really care, I just wanted to be at home right now.
"When Peeta and Katniss get back, then I will tell everyone what's going on. I've got some things which need to be said and I'm going to say them." Marvel replied harshly.
"Katniss isn't coming back." Peeta spoke quickly as he suddenly rejoined the group and went to sitting on the bench, out of the way of the rest of us.
"What have you done now Mellark?" I questioned him.
"None of your business, Mason." he spat coldly, and I knew he had done something and Katniss now wasn't listening to him because of whatever had gone on between the two of them.
I shrugged him off because I didn't really want to be involved with his silly games right now and, whatever had gone on between him and Katniss, was for the two of them to sort out and I wasn't going to have anything to do with them.
Not after the last time I tried to help the pair of them out and it ended up being thrown back in my face.
"Do you want me to-"
"You don't need to do anything, I'm here." Katniss muttered, standing beside me and not looking anywhere other than her feet on the ground because they were clearly so much better than we all were; either that there was just people she didn't want to look at right now.
"Are you OK Kat?" I asked her.
"I'll tell you about it once we're done here." she sighed.
"We're all here now, so you can tell us what the hell this is all about. Some of us have actually plans here." I insisted.
"Then you shall have to cancel all your plans because we're all spending the evening together." Marvel replied, which was met with nothing but disappointment from every single person.
I know we used to spend time together, but we were nearing the end of school now.
People and times had both changed, and nothing was the same as it used to be.
Hence the reason the group is falling apart right now and nothing was as it was right at the beginning of the year.
"Don't you all think we're a bit too old for that now? Especially considering how close to the end of the year we are now?" Clove asked him, only saying what the rest of us were thinking.
"Yeah. I mean, Clove is right, we've all made our own plans and we're not exactly the same group we were a year ago." Glimmer shrugged.
"Perhaps it's just for the best if we all just stick to the plans we made tonight." Cato added from beside Marvel, who actually looked pretty hurt that no one was going for his plan and no one wanted to spend time with each other in the way that we used to do.
"We all have our own lives now. We're nothing like we used to be." I added.
"Yeah. Marvel, we've all changed and we're not the same people we were when we would spend every single weekend doing things like this." Peeta finally spoke up.
It was clear that none of us wanted to be here, and we had made that point more than clear. Well, with the exception of Katniss who was just sitting there silently and taking everything in which was happening.
"Oh. Well. Sorry. I just wa-"
"No. I don't care how old we are, or what plans you've all made, or even if you don't want to be here, Marvel is trying to bring us all back together here. The least you can all do is just go along with it. For one night we could all least pretend to like each other and just act how we used when we first became a group. I'm in." Katniss suddenly spoke up much to the shock of every single one of us.
"But, Ka-"
"I don't care about our plans, Johanna. This is one night and, I don't care what the rest of you do, but I'm staying here with Marvel." Katniss interrupted me, walking over to Marvel's side; a small smile replacing the frown which was there because at least one of was going to stick by him no matter what.
"I'm in too. You might not like me, but I'm still Katniss' best friend and I'm not going to leave her now." Gale spoke, giving me a fright actually since I didn't even know he was hiding in the middle of this entire thing.
"Thanks Gale, and I never said I didn't like you. I just think your attitude towards all of us totally stinks." Marvel chuckled.
Gale now taking his place behind Katniss and Marvel, all of whom were looking round the rest of the group in the hope that another one of them was going to step forward and agree to spending the night like kids all over again.
"Well, I'm not having anything to do with this. It's stupid." I state with a little shrug, and I'm not going to change my mind.
I show that by walking away from all of them, and just leaving the others to make their decision on whether they were going to join with it or not.
