Idla Cornela

"Stay away from me!" I ran outside when I heard my sister scream.

She sounded so frightend, so scared of the people surrounding her asking questions about her emotions. "Please, go away!" I pushed through the thick crowd of people in order to get to my sister faster. Suddenly, I was trampled by a line of people screaming and running away from where Viv was.

I put my arms over my head to protect myself. It didn't d much when a blaze of fire ignited the kingdom. "Holy shit." I whispered under my breath. What is happening?

A great roar of fiery answered my question. A roar that I onced believed I would never hear. The roar of a dragon.

-------------------------------------

I quickly picked myself up from the ground so I could take cover. My feet raced back toward the castle where me and my family could be safe. My family--Viveca! Damn it! How could I forget about Viv?!

I tore my dress to make it shorter so I could get away faster. My eyes scanned the area in search of a weapon. I'll need one to protect myself.

With every bit of fight left in me, I finally located a bow. Perfect. I strapped on the quiver and readied an arrow.

Now that I'm protected, I can make my way toward Viv.

Dodging most of the flaming barriers, I was able to make it toward where I thought Viv was. She was gone. Just gone. It was almost as if she was never there in the first place. Had I been imagining things? I don't think so. The only thing that was in the area was a few charred corpses and burnt grass. But no Viv.

    "Run!" People screamed.

My hands were sweaty and my heart raced as the ground violently shook beneath my feet. I did my best to keep my balence when all of a sudden, I was face to face with a large, dark red, scaley dragon with eye-shattering blue eyes. My eyes must have widened from the invigorating sight before me. Where the hell did this come from. It has to be the work of Cortessa.

"Come on, you firebreathing bastard! Do your worst!" I shouted at it in my best intimidating tone. Probably not my smartest idea to taunt the beast. "What are you waiting for? Live bait right in front of you!"

It answered me with a terrifying roar. Then, without warning, it turned away and retreated into the safety of the sky above. "Oh hell no. Don't think you're going to get away that easily." I said under my breath. I'm not just going to let it live.

It was like I had lost control of my own body. I couldn't keep myself from chasing after the dragon. The treea turned into blurs as I raced past them. I did my best to keep my eyes on the sky. Suddenly, it appeared above me. Time to bring this beast down.

"Your time is up, bitch." My fingers let go of the arrow and cut through the sky with such precision. Before I could load another arrow, the beast cried in pain and plummeted to the ground, bringing a smile of acomplishment to my face.

As tired as I was, I still had enough endurance in me to go and bring back a souvounier of my kill.

While running, a flash of a bright, swirling blue light knocked me off my feet. What the hell? I ran even faster toward it.

Then it hit me. As soon as I saw that dark wavy hair, I knew something was wrong. What really convinced me was my arrow in its side.

     "Viveca?"
